What do you play shammy magus or chosen?Sulorie wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2024 10:53 amOf course, it's always the others who are good. You want to say there are so many in the rvr zones because of aesthetics? All those players would play WE otherwise?salazarn wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2024 10:40 amSame. That's why they are v popular. But its the naked elf chick no one wants to play except weirdos that is good.OstianKing wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2024 12:14 am

Re: State of witch hunters
They are marginally stronger than they were before the WS/INI due to less parry on foes and ini being on a lot of the WH/WE gear. They are weaker than WE's still and in my opinion could still use a buff. Overall, 7/10 on where they are currently.

Let's say I have almost everything but no magus and my shaman, if I happen to play him, which is many months ago, is healing.
Dying is no option.

WE and WH still very good, you still have abilities and tactics which ignore armor. Ofcourse it will be not easy to kill regen cancer. And most important - you can leave fight at any time if you'r not winning. Also BW and Sorc are free food for you.

Best advice here, take it.Farrul wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 10:46 am Overall i wouldn't recommend one in the current state, unless you really have a fondness for the aesthetics, gun-play etc. Then go ahead.
The main problem with the WH is that they were simply overnerfed to a point were just playing another dps class is a much better option if you're asking about the performance of the class.
White lions/SW's etc you are invited to warbands, 6 mans , the WH used to excel in solo but it can no longer defeat the stronger Destro solo classes assuming equal gear or skill.
So what's the point? To target underleveled/geared players? I guess if that's your thing.
If you must stealth around then pick the Witch elf.
Whilst her left tree dps spec is meh like WH, her middle tree with a more defensive build is a far better choice for solo, you can defeat the strongest Order solo roamers with it, something WH can't do with the destro equivalents, a regen chosen will destroy you, a Magus etc, a good hybrid shaman kite/laugh multiple WH''s at the same time.
If you are truly passionate you can still make it work to some extent, you'll need BIS gear( i mean that, best gear in every slot) and you'll need to try-hard on potions, liniments etc and then develop great skills, just be better than your targets.
So, if you out-gear or out-skill your opponent you can be one of those WH''s still scoring on the killboard, otherwise just roll something the game wants you to roll, WH is not it.
Re: State of witch hunters
Most people who complain about WH's being supposedly weak here simply had their ego hurt a few too many times because they engaged people who have strong solo builds and lost, and they expect to be able to beat everyone.
The fact of the matter is that stealth in this game is extremely strong and enables you to pick your fights way better and way more often than any other solo class can. Very few (as in less than 10%) of players are playing the solo-focused builds that are necessary to beat a properly specced and geared Witch Hunter 1v1. If you pick your fights properly - which really isn't hard to do, as most people are not specced for 1v1 or small scale combat - you will have a great time.
Whether you lose to some tank with a regen spec or a defensive Marauder or whatever really doesn't matter because that's like 2 people in every zone and you have stealth, you can just avoid them. Most people you fight will be players in groups or warbands who you are able to pick off at opportune moments, stragglers at the tail end of warband conga lines, free kill squig herder loot boxes, stuff like that, not perfectly specced 1v1 regen snb blackguards.
The only thing you need to avoid is decent healers who know what detaunt is (less than 10-20% of them in my experience) and hp regen geared tanks, marauders and choppas. Then there are a few 50/50 fights, like solo spec shaman/magus and regen WE, who you will beat most of the time if you're better than them, and who you can avoid if not. Everything else is free renown. The worst concern is not whether they will be able to beat you or not, it's whether they will chug enough potions to survive until help arrives.

You’re absolutely right, and that’s one of the main reasons why YOLO-ing in lakes as WE/WH can feel so boring and unchallenging. You can leave the warcamp with the best possible 1v1 build and dominate 99% of the server. It becomes easy to cherry-pick your fights, stealth in when it’s advantageous, and if things go south, just stealth out and repeat.
