Try prekiting that is being in front of your enemy while they run moving using q and e or try hopping after them might seem wierd but it works for me.

It wouldn't be so bad if the snare would actually go off. So many times I am clearly in range and the snare will not go off.

It's far worse on melee dps and WE/WH. On a tank, I always try to jump to my target while spamming the snare ability, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't but what does seem to work a lot is getting in front of my targets just a tad bit and spamming the snare button, that usually gets the ability off.Bluntski wrote:It wouldn't be so bad if the snare would actually go off. The problem is that if the Warhammer client does not perform ping compensation, both positions you see on your client are wrong with respect to the server. Your own position is further ahead on your client than the server by the time it takes you to communicate with the server, and other players' positions are behind by the same amount.

a bit offtopic if I may :Azarael wrote:The problem is that if the Warhammer client does not perform ping compensation, both positions you see on your client are wrong with respect to the server. does that mean while my client shows me Im exactly on the same place as target who are running infront of me, he is actually like 10ft infront of me (out of melee range) by the server so thats why my melee abilities wont work at all even when my client tell me it should?
same for some block/parry or dodge when Im attacking player from behind - I might be actually attacking him from sides instead from behind cuz there is difference between client - server ?
I have no experience with these thing so sry for asking what might be for others pretty obvious

I have worked kinda nice solution to melee whiffs. Whenever i see my target getting out of range (without using any abilities, like charge or flee), I simply jump while moving and use snare, it works 80% of the time, other 20% i blame speedhacking RunePriests.
(basically, what magter said, i was lazy to read all the posts, but now it makes more of us who do jump-snares(get it?), let's turn the tides with melee now)

grumcajs: You're exactly right. Used to have similar problems when I played a mod for Unreal Tournament 2004 which included melee weapons and a shield. I could be in a position to defend against an attack on my screen but still be hit because my client's simulated positions were not the same as the positions the server had when it was calculating the hit.
Regarding jumping: What jumping does is actually update the server more frequently with respect to your own position. When you're moving in a completely straight line, your position is updated every 500ms as an optimisation (the server doesn't actually predict your position every tick at the moment, it relies in updates from the client, but it would be able to if we desired.) When you perform an action which would render the predicted position incorrect (such as jumping, rotating, changing from strafe to forward move, etc) the updates are much more frequent: possibly in the 50ms-100ms range. This may also be why players who are jumping are harder to hit for laggers, as their position is updated much more frequently and never lags behind such that you might get a hit based on an old position.

Az, rotating as in with holding right mouse button? Doesn't change lag, strafing doesn't help either. Jumping only, from what i experience. But here's the thing, sometimes lag is very weird, like i see runepriest, intercept him, can't hit, then he suddenly 'updates' a good 80 feet ahead, unlike most of the times, when they're become reachable.

You really think Window 10 is really that bad? I have 7 and then upgraded to 10. Also played both version with ROR. They are basically the same. There is no huge ping different between them. And ROR don't have any issue with Windows 10, it is basically flawless for me.Tesq wrote: Don't use windows 8 or 10 roll back to windows 7.[/color]
I tried VPN; PIA, TunnelBear, TorGuard and ExpressVPN. There is no difference with ping between them. I use London server (Im from west coast of USA) since The server is located there. And ExpressVPN is one the best VPN for their speed through it is expensive. I get about 150 ms with VPN and 170 without. So basically, it is not a difference.
