Update: 1/4/2025. This project has been renamed to "
KelpUI" or KhelqUI. This effort was made to "
branch" away from VinyUI's bad reputation of being hideously outdated with worst performance imaginable.
The
KelpUI project for ROR is an evolved addon package initative that focuses on updating old addons, replacing bad addons that reduce performance with better ones, adding gems of useful addons gathered from the sea of the massive amount of archived addons from live in Idrinths addon website (
the ocean) as the ROR community addon developer efforts for better addons continues to hopefully grow (
like Kelp). I have went through each of the addons personally and updated them myself at the time of update.
Different UI addon packages (FiskUI, Gravord, etc) have different UI layout philosophies. KelpUI is a UI layout that was inspired by the WorldofWarcraft mmorpg and this random DoK 1v1 video I saw on Youtube back in 2022.
Also starting from "
KelpUI_v20250105_1Q", User does not have to manually customize everything from scratch anymore and can use the default UI layout preset from default. You will have to adjust the following:
- You will have to change screen resolution size though from default "1920x1080" to whatever your monitor size is.
- You will have to re-enable Target Titles and Target Guild. Do: Escape>User Settings>Targeting>check "Target Titles" and "Target Guild" to enable it. Then click "Apply">"OK".
- Class mechanic window will need to be customized to your preference, you can just use Layout Editor to easily change the window location. Do: "Escape>Customize Interface>Layhout Editor>Start Editing>make changes>Exit>Save>Yes" to modify.
- Warcommander and MGRemix(not recommended using in keeps and forts) windows will need to be customized to your preference, you can just use Layout Editor to easily change their window locations. Do: "Escape>Customize Interface>Layhout Editor>Start Editing>make changes>Exit>Save>Yes" to modify.
- Default Public Quest window will need to be customized to your preference, you can just use Layout Editor to easily change the window location. Do: "Escape>Customize Interface>Layhout Editor>Start Editing>make changes>Exit>Save>Yes" to modify.
My specs:
Running game with maximum visual effects.
Sildur's Graphical Enhancement/ Sildur's ENHANCED War Shaders v6.0
ProcessLasso restricting game to 4 cores.
Cyro Chamber 45L
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900x and
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT
Antivirus turned off.
LAN ethernet fiber.
I'm running game with 40-50 fps in heavy fights. Not seeing any issues. Game does not crash nor stutter on my end.

Updated addons and removed useless addons. Added useful addons. Enemy addon updated with MoosieMods modded UI:
Updated: AdvancedRenownTrainer, LibSlash, Buffhead (Jaycubs version), Pure, Enemy(MoosieMods_1.2), Shinies
Added: combattextnames(better replacement for WSCT and shows ability icons (credit: wdesu), KillAlert (newer and better replacement for Deathblow2) (credit: xruptor), Warboard (40fps issue fixed) (warboard_TogglerwWlh + WarBoard_Menu) (credit: wardfan220), colorTips, nRarity, WarRatingBuster, MapMonster, WARCommander, minimapmonster, ActionFraction, PotionBar, Obsidian, Nisp, MoraleCircle, targetinforing, DuffTimer, CoolDownLine, LootAlert, Bankwindowfix, Tometracker, PocketPalette, Clock, PeaceOut, OilTimer, Comp3D, emotes, wbLeadHelper, Guardpack, Megaphone++, Zmailmod, Painttheleader, Showmethebubbles, Thanktheresser, MGRemix, StatdollLight, AnywhereTrainer (necessary to get WarBoard to appear correctly), ReinviteHelper, RVMods, OverheadFonts (credit: Omegus)
Removed: WSCT(reduces fps, doesnt show ability icons), Friends (conflicts with KillAlert), HealAll, hidehiddenframes, Deathblow2, StatdollRemix, Tether, thinkoutloud, TidyRoll, ZonepopLite, Amethyst, ClosetGoblin, wikkiscooldownpulse, Ges, Res, ResHelper, PetAssist, HealHoverAssist
- Reduced default Macros.xml in /user dir to make space for auto-generated HealHoverAssist macro and SwiftAssist macros
- Added CharacterSettings.xml for /user/Martyrs Square/VinyUIDestrTank
- Removed old Shinies dir and Swift Assist dir in /user/settings/GLOBAL
VinylUI v.20241129_1A update: Added "AnywhereTrainer" addon to fix Warboard.
VinylUI v.20241129_1B update: Fixed hotbar issues.
VinylUI v.20241129_1C update: Put the normal default version of MoosieMods in all profiles in /user/settings/Martyrs Square dir instead of zeal one.
VinylUI v.20241129_1D update: Added wikkiscooldownpulse addon.
VinylUI v.20241129_1E update: Added RVMods addon.
VinylUI v.20241130_1F update: In /user/settings/Martyrs Square dir, other templates were removed to just 1 default template to reduce redundancy. The reason is that I observed that some older templates (DestrHeal) were bad i.e. wouldn't display fourth action bar, the first 2x action bars were in blocks instead of bars, and the third action bar was corrupted (randomly disappear when clicking on it) so a fresh template was added and tested to help prevent this. "warboard_TogglerwWlh" and ""WarBoard_Menu" modules added to /Interface/AddOns/Warboard. "warboard_TogglerwWlh" module adds an icon for wbLeadHelper to the Warboard bar so you dont have to make a separate macro for it to activate it. "warBoard_Menu" fixes the Menu Bar so it displays on the WarBoard bar properly.
VinylUI v.20241130_1G update: /user/settings/Martyrs Square/template_character_name_VinyUIOrderTank is renamed to /user/settings/Martyrs Square/template_character_name/VinyUI/
VinylUI v.20241130_1H update: CharacterSettings.xml in /user/settings/Martyrs Square/template_character_name has been updated for the previous update folder name change.
VinylUI v.20241130_1I update: Fresh Aggrometer addon re-installed and its addon cache deleted in /user/settings/Martyrs Square/template_character_name_VinyUI to help resolve issue of it not displaying.
VinylUI v.20241130_1J update: Removed old teather addon in /Interface/AddOns dir and /user/settings/Martyrs Square/template_character_name_VinyUI dir since the included Guardpack is the updated replacement for it.
VinylUI v.20241130_1K update: Removed QueueQueuer addon in /Interface/AddOns dir and /user/settings/MartyrsSquare/template_character_name/VinyUI dir, which was preventing scenarios from being qued solo if someone in your group was already in one.
VinylUI v.20241214_L update: Added OverheadFonts and PetAssist.
VinylUI v.20241222_M update: Added 2x backup macros for SwiftSetAssist and SwiftAssist (sometimes the macro gets stuck on a certain player and doesn't reset) in /user/Macros.xml .
If this ever happens, in main swiftassist macro dont delete the macro but just remove the text in the macro (ctrl+a then backspace), then in swiftassistbackup, copy (ctrl+a) and then paste back in main swiftassist macro (ctrl+v).
VinyUI_v20241229_1N update: Removed WSCT and replaced it with combattextnames (credit:wdesu version). This is better performance compared to wsct and has working ability icons for the scrolling combat text.
]Also includes a big text-only cooldown indicator for abilities. More info here:
https://gitlab.com/nwwdles/war-addons/- ... ttextnames

VinyUI_v20250103_1O update: Fixed issue of available Siege Weapons and Ram not appearing when hovering mouse of keep in rvr lake by resetting EA_ObjectiveTrackers (credit: WarriorOfAlliance).
EA_ObjectiveTrackers was reset by removing it in /user/Settings/Martyrs Square/template_character_name . After logging back in the game, the Client will auto-generate this same folder again with a reset, fresh state. This has been tested to fix the issue.
KelpUI_v20250104_1P update: Renamed VinyUI to "
KelpUI" in \user\settings\Martyrs Square\template_character_name dir and updated CharacterSettings.xml .
KelpUI_v20250105_1Q update: Removed WikkisCooldownPulse (redundant). Removed Ges (
can add back in yourself as tank just uncheck "System General" in chatbox settings). Removed Res (
can add back in yourself if your a healer). Removed ResHelper (
can add back in yourself if your a healer). Provided preset so User does not have to customize everything by default. Removed ClosetGoblin (
can add back in yourself if you have tank/heal gear and dps gear you want to swap around). Just trying to keep essential addons to help make it minimal.
KelpUI_v20250105_1R update: Removed HealHoverAssist(
can add back in yourself if your a healer). Removed PetAssist(

Before you do the following, make sure your character is already created first! :
Navigate to your game installation folder. Usually it's something like:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Warhammer Online - Age of Reckoning
Backup your Interface and user folders. Use these to restore your settings and addon setup if something goes wrong or you don't like the UI.
In your game folder delete Interface, user and cache folders.
Extract KelpUI_v20250107_S.zip in to the game folder (it contains new 2x folders (1x Interface & 1x user). Make sure those are in the game folder before continuing.
[ IMPORTANT ] Navigate to:
Warhammer Online - Age of Reckoning/user/settings/Martyrs Square
Pick the default template folder, copy and paste it within the same folder and then rename it to what your respective character is called.
For example, if my Chosen is called Vermont I make a copy of template_character_name and rename it to Vermont.
Note that character names always start with a capital letter.
Once you log on to a character for the first time after installing the UI pack you might have to run a /reload command for all settings to load properly.

Disable the following 4x addons ingame since the default Menu Bar and default Influence Bar are better:
WarBoard_Alliance
WarBoard_GP
WarBoard_GuildF
WarBoard_Inf
