Hi all,
I just got back to the game and found out that WL pet is buggy that makes it unplayable so decided to roll a SM to relearn the game, I have some questions though:
I plan to go 2H solo mainly, with that in mind how much toughness and strength should I aim for ?
What’s the BIS 2H weapon and where/how to obtain it?
Thanks !
[SM] returning player, some questions?

If you check the RoR Guide in my Signature, the SM section might have some useful insight for you. Toughness is rarely utilized as 2H now since they added Block to the stat, somewhat cementing it as a Shield stat.
Defensive stats for 2H are Initiative, Wounds and Armor, or just Strength for more damage.

You can play White Lion in Loner Spec just fine, which is quite a fun class to play capable of providing a plethora of enhanced and joyous gaming moments.
Nah, I just mean its fun. And don't let anyone ever tell you different!
Good choice. And don't let anyone ever tell you different!
You will be a god among ants. And don't let anyone ever tell you different!
As you are leveling there are many. As a general rule just look for the ones which help enhance the stats you currently spec as, given you are leveling, all of that stuff will be transitory, However toward the back end you want the 2H from the Altdorf Crypts, The Bastion Stair (Bloodlord) 2H, and the Fortress Greatsword.

The devs decided to punish solo players with almost no war crests from zone locks( unless skilled and kill plenty, which you won't with SM undergeared).alusnova wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 6:16 am Hi all,

Warbands/scenarios to farm the gear you'll need, do the pve tanking(SnB) to unlock the wards to save thousands of war crests.
This is the requirement for a solo tank unless you wish to suffer a lot in the lakes with gear lacking the necessary stats.
As for the 2H SM solo stats, most would do a Str build with knockdown for smooth gameplay. The goal is toughness in the 5xx -6xx range which comes naturally with the gear + rugged tactic, STR talis always since you want to get up in the 800-900 range at BIS(supported by 40-45% crit SM hurts the most out of all tanks). Get a regen chest(grimershimmer) from the AH and fleshrender regen rings if you plan to do solo roaming.
BIS sword for solo is the purple scenario def weapon or Fortress for the speed proc and extra crit, whilst farming for those you could use one of the sentinel dungeon weapons(Crimson Wind).
Just a final word of advice( i assume you mean roaming solo). Even wih the correct BIS gear you won't be doing well until you learn how to properly handle the Class, develop tactics for each different class or situation( such as changing tactics when necessary to adapt to different foes or situations) and learn map advantages such as retreat points when overwhelmed( as tank, you will be overwhelmed when soloing).
Knowing what you can do and not and and more importantly WHEN (timing is the key) is a must when soloing as a tank. Tanks are slow moving targets and if you lack timing in your actions you'll suffer more than any other archetype( unlike WL/WH etc you won't be able to escape through speed and must tank it/punt targets away).
There are so many cues and finery points here which takes years to learn and too much to write down, the difference between success and failure is not in the gear but the player who is controlling the toon. Good luck.
