And yet they did nerf WE which were already terrible in group play above anything 6man. They nerfed Engi which have almost never ever had a place in any group outside of people bringing them for pull bots in the early days of the server. No class is designed for solo play, with the possible exception of WH/WE, nor should they be. That's coming from someone who spends most of my playtime solo-roaming.
Classes that are good at solo are good at it because their toolkit happens to have a lot of things that are beneficial to solo-roaming, not because they've been designed that way. Trying to balance all classes for solo, as well as party and warband play, would be next to impossible and make all of the builds suffer.
Should dps AM be nerfed because it's S-Tier in solo? Of course not. Nerfing a class that already isn't that great in a group to try and balance solo would be completely against what WAR is about.
I just can't get behind the "dont balance for solo play" when the game isn't balanced for any kind of content to begin with and patches certainly do happen around small group and solo play all the time. As they should... when the live servers came out the only play that existed was zerg play...and how long did that game last?
Yes balance the game around solo play WHEN POSSIBLE since most solo play revolves around single target and most group play revolves around AOE, interfering with one or the other rarely impacts the other so well. WE for example didn't get ANY worse in group play when Witchbrew got nerfed because well it wasn't good for group play to begin with. WL solo play also didn't get better when spin to win stuff got out of control...because spinning to win never worked in solo play to begin with.
If this game was more balanced around all forms of content (at least 24+, 6man and solo) a lot more people would play this game for sure. There are a lot of previous players who loved the 6 man and solo game and almost none of them log in anymore because its just imbalanced. These people also take part in the large scale RVR in downtime so the overall game would be way more active if this was the case.

Let’s be honest: there comes a time when things need to be said. The overall class balance in the game is completely off track! And with each new patch, the results only seem to get worse. I’ll say it again: this game was never designed to be solo-oriented, so why are there so many classes that excel in solo play, encouraging even more players to go solo in a game meant for group cooperation?
Personally, I’ve stopped having any illusions about what RoR will eventually become, and it honestly saddens me. The developers have done a tremendous job giving us thousands of hours of fun, but it’s clear that class balance is heading in the wrong direction. I’ve lost count of the shield IBs that are everywhere, the AMs/shammies, and the solo SWs/SHs. Why are these classes so dominant in solo play when, logically, only stealth classes should excel in that role? The answer is simple: these classes are far better than WHs/WEs in this area.
I have nothing against solo play; on the contrary, diversity is essential for a living game world. However, if solo play is to be an option, it needs to remain coherent. Some classes should NOT be at the top of the food chain while others have to work three times harder for worse results.
All of this to say that, regardless of the game mode, class balance must be an absolute priority. In my opinion, given the small development team, the focus should be on group play to restore some coherence to the game. This way, certain classes could find their place even in small groups because, right now, MDPS are struggling in a world dominated by ranged classes (I’m speaking specifically about small groups or warbands).
Let’s stop these wild swings in class potential, either making some classes ridiculously strong or the opposite.
This is just one opinion among many.

WEs are amazing in a 6-man. Engi/Magus didn't get a nerf. The pet buffs were tied to some coding that is no longer a part of the ability rework so it had to be removed. Both classes got a buff with pet ability to use certain skills on the move added to the class as standard. The change to magnet/rift was a nerf though, and a very heavy-handed one at that. Both of these classes will be looked at when they get to DPS changes so we can't judge them before we see the outcome.
Although 2h BO isn't viable in any content and needs some work, SnB BO is a great RvR tank and can compete with CH and BG for a spot in any group. The most recent changes to the class have given SnB BO even more of a buff and it feels great to play. The problem with BO isn't that it's not viable, it's that only SnB is viable as all our best abilites are tied to SnB builds, or in the case of the Boss tree, better run with SnB builds.
I don't think classes should be balanced for solo. For solo balance, each class would require a full toolkit to do everything. Group balance needs gaps in a class's toolkit that other classes can fill. As this is a group game, some classes are goning to have tools that are good for solo, others not. That's just the nature of the game. And to be honest, if people get upset about dying to certain classes (or at all) when solo roaming, then that's probably not content they should be engaging in.
