Hey!
What are the main differences between a DPS Runepriest and a DPS Zealot in solo or small-scale roaming in RvR?
Any reason to choose one over the other?
Thanks a lot and m,erry Christmas to all of you!

Re: DPS Runepriest vs DPS Zealot
Both suck but RP is better then zeal due to its dots hitting harder.
Re: DPS Runepriest vs DPS Zealot
pretty good class in duo if the zeolot can do their push back while a ranged like sorc can keep shooting it's pretty deadly
Re: DPS Runepriest vs DPS Zealot
Zealot more better:
M1, good range aoe, extremely good aoe punt without immune, many absorb procs
RP: 660 armor bonus

AM, BW, SL, SM, WL, Engi, RP, WP, Kotbs - all 80+ and BIS.
BO and WE for easy game on mid tier sc.

Re: DPS Runepriest vs DPS Zealot
Thanks a lot for the feedbacks!
It seems like RP's advantages are the armor bonus and stronger DoT, while ZEA shines with M1 abilities, some AoE skills, absorbs, and great synergy with Sorcs. I'm starting to get the picture.
Which classes are the most dangerous counters to ZEA/RP when solo roaming?

Re: DPS Runepriest vs DPS Zealot
This is an older post but I thought I'd throw my two cents in the ring here. For context, I have a DPS RP at rr84 and a DPS Zealot at rr81. Here's my opinion on how the classes compare:
When building straight Single Target DPS, Zealot will do better. It has better burst, not just due to Talon [M1] but also due to Daemonic Fury (The RP mirror is much less damage, but includes a small snare). Also with Zealot's Scourged Warping Tactic you get instant cast Scourge procs which I've seen crit for >1500.
Some clarification on the feedback given earlier in this thread, RPs dots do technically hit harder, but the difference is small. I have never actually noticed this difference in gameplay.
Both can do okay in solo/roaming. They are not the strongest, but they have a very powerful defensive cooldown in the form of EtW/GS, even if it's 2 minute cooldown is limiting. DPS RP solo is a kite class. It's burst is lacking compared to other roaming classes, but it's kite potential is high with Immolating Grasp and Sundered Motion, not to mention it's Oath Rune of Power. Zealot's burst is better, and it's a slightly more mobile class due to not needing to hard cast Scourge regularly, however it has less CC tools.
You will struggle as a RP against classes that you cannot CC. rSH usually will kill you before your dots can kill them, due to their burst, but this is gear reliant and you can win these occasionally, specifically when you have GS up. Shaman is another hard matchup. Their Silence is longer then yours and they can generally outheal your damage.
Zealot has a lot more even matchups, due to it's better burst and Talon. A good AM is a hard matchup, usually devolving into a stalemate, and WL's are an issue now that the pet is fixed. Knocking down the pet to stop the pull isn't very reliable anymore, and if you're pulled you're likely dead.
Both classes struggle with knockdowns, especially if they KD you followed by a strong burst rotation if you don't pop EtW/GS before the KD. WH/WE are great at this, though if they don't kill you during the KD you can usually pop the defensive, pot, and wounds buff to recover.

Re: DPS Runepriest vs DPS Zealot
Or just go toughness, instead of kiting. The only wl to ever give me any trouble on dps zealot was Grranimal, and even that was before I modified spec to up dmg.
"Can we play with him, master? He seems so unhappy. Let us help him smile. Please? Or at least let us carve one on his face when he stops screaming."

Re: DPS Runepriest vs DPS Zealot
You could do that sure, but I like big numbers and also like to do SCs. Being full toughness means you'll not hit as hard in content that might require you to do so. Not that DPS Zealot is good against coordinated groups (it's absolutely not, it's terrible against anything guarded and suffers heavily against things that cleanse), but I do well against pugs.
Also, in many contexts, popping EtW and spamming Boon of Tzeentch is enough durability

Re: DPS Runepriest vs DPS Zealot
As dps zealot in solo the only classes that are hard match ups for you are dps am and wl. Depending on your spec you can just stagger am and walk away. Snb tanks, don't even bother, just detaunt and walk away. But out of the match ups that you fight (wl) is the hardest (imo). Dps am I dont bother fighting since almost always you wont kill them (unless they're low rr/gear).
