2hand slayer

Just came back and my old WL feels horrible with a pet so dusted off a slayer and digging the 2hand smacks. Question is for lvling any set I should look to grab or just wear pve sets till I can get vanq/gen ??? And other than focusing on giantslayer any build recommendations? Thanks, just hit T2 and trying to not waste time/resouces

Sadly, the best you can do is to levelup your WL until the Loner tactics.
Slayer 2H stay the worst mDPS at this moment of the game....

2handed slayer is mostly useful for scenarios thanks to high burst and healdebuff. In rvr definetly not recomended.
Bear in mind that slayer, since 2 years, is the worst mdps you can pick n game. Better rolling wl instead. (unless you are a proper beardling!)

What was that Tactic name Slayer/Choppa had in place of Violent impacts/Wear em down that gave you 3x Stacks you could use every 4s maybe? That tactic was Great RoR add that should be returned.

Back when that tactic existed i proposed that tactic would be built into 2h automatically. And the tactic would increase stacks to 4x every 4s So with full Berserk Choppa Doing Tired already,Weaklin Killa, No more Helpin 75% Dmg + One more Finisher with 75% Dmg until you are back to almost 0 mechanic. And Time it with last tick of Bleed Em out for Potential highest single target burst in the game

Slayer equivalent Devastate, Spellbreaker hopefully shattering 3x and doing dmg after + DeathBlow + 4th finisher. Potential Crits with Fierce Might also contester for highest single target burst in the game : D

Full Mechanic + 4x Stacks First 2x Finishers are berserk 50% and second 2x are both 75% dmg. This would make sense to me in perspective of 2h slayer/choppa.

The Slayer is stuck in DPS limbo. Some people still manage to make it work, though I imagine it takes a lot of effort. There are still a few high-level Slayers around who can give you advice, like Rorhi, Toshut, or others (can’t remember many). If you’re determined to stick with leather, they might be able to help.

As someone who is not a slayer expert, would go for something like this- single target build, and aimed at solo roaming/ pug where heals aren't reliable:

Stack parry, and spam exhaustive blows- Precarious Assault is your filler. If you actually are getting heals, replace Honor Restored with something like Jugged Edge.

That was a great tactic (Pent Up Anger or some name like that). Which allowed you to play around with your survivability and create a skill gap. Not sure why they did away with it. There seems to be some strategy in their roadmap (though I think they didn't take into account their ability over time to deploy it). I've contemplated shelving my Choppa after studying the WL tree. No reason at all to play a Slayer in terms of role or value.

WL
-Debuff your own damage type (1600 Armor debuff)
-Mobility gap closer 1 (Pounce)
-Mobility gap closer 2 (Pull)
-Mobility gap closer 3 (Snare)
-Mobility gap creator (Charge)
-Single Target Hard Hitting ability that is guaranteed to critically hit and execute/finish/deathblow opponent (Cull the Weak)
-Does not lose mitigation for the high damage like a Slayer/Choppa mechanic does
-2H Parry Bypass 10%
-Escape Root / Snare immunity 10 secs
-Has a roaming/solo build
-Has an AOE WB build
-Has a 6v6 Build
-Ignores a % of mitigation (Sundering Chop, Hack and Slash Tactic)

Has the best of what's available in Slayer/Choppa, Marauder, and MSH all in one class. Don't need the pet with Hunter/Axeman loaner build (super effective). Why would you play any other class if you like melee dps?

Well I did end up going back to my WL, main reason I was ready to roll a new toon was that when lvling I wasted a lot of warcrests and also didn’t prioritize over enough, when I hit lvl 40 I was essentially out of crests and only rr43 so drastically under geared.

Without talking specifically slayer, 40/43 is fine. You can use either pve full/ mix set, or grab conq boots +gloves off ah and add conq belt (cheapest part). Something like 3 conq + some beastlord (lot of ws) + gunbad str/ws/parry jewelry + city dungeon weapons (lot of ws) will make you competitive enough, without needing all that many crests.
