Re: [BO] 2h build atm?
so BO 2H is still meh?
i tried a specc with defensive RR points and +parry stacking but the dps is not really great and you are less useful than SnB related to the ability set

Pre-BiS is painful.
But, it totally depends on what you wanna do, and who you're comparing yourself to. In warbands, 2h isn't good, even in BiS. Sure, its fine when you're roaming the lakes, you can still lead charges and get some kills, and it's great being supported by healers. But your comparative lack of defences and utility makes you less useful, and when it comes to sieges and forts, you're pretty awful.
Solo and small scale roaming, 2hander is better (imo). The higher damage output means you'll actually get some kills and some renown (solo snb sucks!!). The comparative lack of incoming damage means ur lack of defences isn't as bad when ur solo or small scale. If ur roaming with a healer in the group, it's pretty awesome.
I personally spend the majority of my time 2h these days, either solo or small scale roaming. I have a lot of fun, I get a decent amount of kills. I can win plenty of 1v1s. I find it much more enjoyable than SnB, and much quicker to earn crests and renown. The only time I feel the downside is in warband play, especially in keeps and forts. But, if i know im going to be joining in warbands for the evening, I just respec and put on my full defensive sov gear.
How does 2h BO compare to other 2h tanks? No idea lol. I know comparing outright stats with a 2h chosen can be depressing: they seem to have more strength, toughness, parry and health than me! But when playing in a group together, we seem pretty equal in terms of damage output and protection, so just looking at raw stats doesn't tell the whole story.

yeah you right, i realized many things you said while plying BO. i was SnB for the most time bc of WB play. just wanted to give 2H a try but i have a mix of Sentinel + BL so it sucks pretty much. bu i tried a diff spec to be more tanky (11-0-13) and be more supportive with def RR points but it was meh.anstalt wrote: Wed Apr 02, 2025 12:50 am2h in BiS gear is great!amputationsaw wrote: Tue Apr 01, 2025 10:35 pm so BO 2H is still meh?

idk if i would try 2H in a 6man SC premade because when i would've get focused i would go do fast i guess.
guess i wait till i get better gear but it will take forever to buy two full Sov gear (for SnB and 2H)
but i love playing BO in generel bc you can jump into the brawl and get on the toes with the foes, its great

Yep, that's the situation for 2h at the moment.
I recently wrote a (very long) post about the problems with 2h: viewtopic.php?t=55434
The TLDR is outside of solo-roam it's always better for the group to go SnB as we lose too much and gain too little as 2h.
The recent healer patch has given me hope for the future though. Despite the mixed reaction to the content of the changes, it has proven that the team is willing to spend time reworking off-specs and even changing career mechanics. Hopefully, they'll revisit the tanks at some point and we'll get the same treatment. Until then, my 2h stays on the shelf unless I'm doing PvE.

I remember when I finally got the bloodlord set, I gave 2hander a try and it sucked! I had full invader and felt nearly invincible as snb, so then switched to bloodlord and being squishy as hell.....and still not doing much damage, I couldn't believe it! It was a really painful experience.
But in BiS, it really does make a huge difference. I'm not even sure why tbh, its not like your stats are that much better.
In SCs, I now always go 2h. Paired up with melee dps, the two of you can wreck havoc in the enemy back line, in a way you simply can't do as snb. But, I wouldn't do it in anything less than endgame gear as you're just too squishy.
Gearing does take time, and feels like a massive grind. But it gets surprising quick once you've done it the first time. Mostly though, I find it's best not to focus on gear/crests/renown. Just focus on having the most fun, and the rest will come quickly enough.

Fanx for da appliez boyz!
BO is a really fun class in general but it has big issues for sure.
i hope i have the fervor to grind out BO because i'm currently playing shaman and SH which all are really fun (all over rr60 atm) and its hard to cokmmit to one class to max it out. but i'll get there
