Look that is cool and all, and it makes sense, but you didnt answer the question. Is there a list? Im also wondering what i can and cant say. Because I use colorful language as well, not even meaning as an insult or harassment towards someone.. and yet, ive been muted twice. Second time for saying "knobhead" and the word "bastard" has muted me as well, despite empire characters verbally screaming it in game when they get hit.

Not trolling... just post the list, so we know what we can and cant say. I dont want to play this mindfield while joking with people i meet in game, and suffering a 1 hour mute because i stumbled across something that is rude in a different context that im not used to. Just give a definitive list. I've had a few of my friends try this out, get clapped by the auto moderation, audibly laugh and say screw it and uninstalled. You lost players because of it. And its not doing anything to reduce toxicity in the game, because ive been told mean/rude things without profanity such as being called "inept" and "useless" because im not comfortable healing yet.

Welcome to the actual endgame, finding out what can get you muted for an hour instead of just getting starred out in chat. The list has never been shared AFAIK. I suspect the "best" we can do as players is make a wiki page of inapropriate words and what they result in ... assuming of course that doesn't get nuked.

You also have to factor into the equation enforcement of the rules here is dependent on who actually breaks them.

Discord doesn't publish their profanity filter either and everyone still uses it. I feel that's a pretty significant industry standard, we're not doing anything unusual here.

The significant disadvantage of publishing a list is that people will use the list as a way to workaround the list. The human brain is very good at understnading words that are misspelled or intentionally broken up. Having a filter that catches most of the unwanted language and topics should be enough to send the message that not everything is acceptable and consequences may occur. Some people learn the harder way where their language bypassing the filter is met with a manually applied sanction from the GM team.

I will reiterate, you are not monitored or filtered in your private chats by the automated system. If you want to have a more salty conversation join a guild that engages in that behavior. If your chat is manually reported by another player, it will manually be reviewed by a GM.

The automated system may star out your word or mute you for an hour, but it does not log these actions to your account directly, and as such is not used by GM's for any escalation purposes. At most we'll tell you what caused it if you ask, when we have time.

The rule of thumb is to not type anything into the open in game chat that you would not say whithout consequences in the following situations:

- infront of the police
- infront of your wife/husband
- infront of a 5 year old child
- infront of any ethnic, religius, political group... that is stacked up with buffed up Boxers that could woop your butt for it instantly
