I solved it using Hotspot Shield VPN: http://www.chip.de/downloads/Hotspot-Sh ... 00785.html
i used it only the first time then the game worked without it

Yes Hotspotshield is the solution. I posted it on some other topics too.

I did Elven Mod solution it works but temporary. I copy and paste it it works, but the next day it still same error.

Seems this is a major bug and one that should be getting attention first IMO, the more folks that can acutally play, the more bugs and balancing that can be done.

This bug existed even on live servers as well, so it might not be that easy.
The solution was to change your password, open up the ports - a quick google search shows other possible solutions.

I have tried most all solutions here, except the Hackshield.

I guess I was lucky with WAR as I never had issues or heard of friends with them.

I do not code, so can only assume that the error is in a log somewhere or could be wiht enabling more debugging and with lots of people having the same issue, could be tracked down.

I look forward to helping figure it out if I can, and can't wait for this game to hit mainstream again!

Have you tried creating a brand new account just to test?
Also, some people still run the old launcher - make sure you have got the http://launcher.returnofreckoning.com/RoRLauncher.exe
Hotspot seems to fix this for most, and password change has fixed it for somebody in a thread yesterday.
