I don't think I know any other MMO or game out there where its community is using like only 10% of the existing game mechanics, only RoR sadly.
Worst is that it's celebrated here, and anyone trying to do something about it, villainized. Now most changes, balance and design is built around this fact and it spirals into dumbing the game down even more.

Who are you responding to?Fey wrote: Mon Aug 11, 2025 12:17 am This is coordinated gameplay. You're not inclined to do the same. That's fine, but unskilled whiners like yourself have gotten virtually everything in this iteration of the game nerfed.
It's a giant pain in the ass to even convince people to roll a certain class, and spec a certain way, let alone style their entire game-play around a single morale drop. It's really tedious to level these characters, gear them out, spec them, and play them in one very specific way. It is much more fun to just use abilities and assist targets down.
Staying in combat and positioning properly until all 4 SH get M4, and then staying in combat while the MA finds a proper target with enough hps; and everyone else maintains combat to actually drop morale is infinitely more complicated than people understand.
People have always **** on morale drops as an easy I-win button. Those people have no idea what this game actually is.
It's **** opinions like this that have made this server into the unfun mess it is today.
RoR is a hollow shell of AoR. It's all because of l2p players. It really is a shame. The original version of the game only needed a handful of changes. We've gone way to far now to go back. The game is here, so I'll keep playing, but I'm not at all happy with the direction of the server that I will characterize as, "hand holding."
Why was it nerfed? Because people like yourself don't know how to play the game.

Re: Morale Pump Parties
I kind of lost track of who's arguing for what but having multiple people pressing damage morale button at the same time is not exactly a high-skill gameplay and it got nerfed for a good reason. Pretty good example why on this old Teinhala 6vs6 video for those who joined somewhat recently or can't remember: https://youtu.be/4SBnfx3rKog?si=IwSmhhcm7wpDJgq-&t=95
As far as dumbing the game down and making it more simple, I agree but not because of morale dump meta nerf (again, having your WB press damage morale button at the same time is not high-skill gameplay and anyone arguing otherwise idk what to tell you, you can train a dog to press 1 button on command...) but for other reasons such as making jumps and self-knockbacks no longer working while airborne (no more countering mara pulls with pounce or self-kb while mid air) and more rare example but very annoying as a WH player is that melee cone change during ability rework made it impossible to do no-look shooting or fencing while facing other people with parry morale/repel blasphemy.
Morale pumps still exist but are niche than before. Drukar listed many uses earlier. Most recently some teams have used morale pumps in certain recently added PVE encounter. But just having key morales (like tank m4's) up earlier is a big deal on it's own.

Re: Morale Pump Parties
There is no reason to run morale pump anymore, that is no secret. That core facet of the game has been gutted, and is no longer viable. IMO that's bad, but maybe I'm wrong.
Morale drops may not be high-skilled gameplay, a stupid argument in my opinion but whatever; but it is, or was, a fundamental part of this game. You don't like it, fine. Now we don't have it, so good for you. Dumbing down the game is what people want, well they get it.
You people can't be bothered to learn the game, and get everything nerfed. Here we are, and we'll keep going down this path of making every skill suck out loud.

Preach! Amen. It's unfortunate RoR went down this path but it was ultimately what the majority wants. Dev's have maintained the game in excellent condition despite setbacks (engine limitations, optimization, access, community, etc)Fey wrote: Mon Aug 11, 2025 12:17 am This is coordinated gameplay. I don't want to hate on the Devs, but I'm a salty old man. At the risk of being unpopular, I blame you, the player.

Re: Morale Pump Parties
Morale was easier to gain on live. In RoR they have reduced the morale gain rates and never brought them to the live levels. Coordinated spec specific morale group compositions are a thing of the past since the morale gain rates are so so slow in RoR. They are set on not fixing this as well which is sad because it is a large portion of the game and usually the capstone of a spec.
Re: Morale Pump Parties
A lot of sad truths in this thread.
I still main morale pump build.
The gits who understand it appreciate it but it's a shade of its former self.

Re: Morale Pump Parties
Morale bomb was dumbest "feature" and it's good devs nerfed it. Morale bombs are undefendable and unmitigable, so your gear and build doesn't matter.
Isn't MMORPG is all about gearing to become stronger and finding optimal builds?

Re: Morale Pump Parties
Shouldn't your gear not matter that much in a pvp game?
Shouldn't it be about your organization/coordination and skill of your team in a pvp game?
I think morale bombs were fine. There is/was a lot of counter play to morale bombs.
Single target assists breaks up morale bombs aligning together for a large instant damage morale bomb.
Hp gems would matter more to survive the burst.
I think one natural counter play option that live and RoR didn't get right was alter fate m4 which is available to all healer m4's. What "old" alter fate m4 did was rez group members within 30ft of the healer. 30ft was Way to short of a range. The rez should have rez'd group members within 100ft.
Grimnirs fury used to be a spec'able ability that would rez everyone within 30ft I believe 5 sec cast. Mind you this is on a class that can self rez. The 30ft should have been increased to 100ft. Now it looks like it's some damaging ability?
You get hit with a morale bomb, fine your backline healer picks everyone up with alter fate m4 or grimnir's fury.
