[Addon Request] Common friends list between characters

I've done some digging but I can't seem to get FastFriends to work.

Does anyone know of another addon or possibly how FastFriends works? I've asked in /advice to no avail.

Thanks for the help in advance

Updated this addon, works for me at least now.

FastFriends — Major Update v2.0
Release date: 2025-09-18

Highlights
  • Installation-global settings storage: one shared DB per server + faction for friendlist and ignorelist.
  • Configure once on your first logged-in character, then log each character once (per server/faction) and let sync finish before switching.
  • Sync modes: all, level, or opt-in (default). Level mode defaults to 16.
  • Friendlist and ignorelist sync can be toggled independently (default: both on).
  • Friend notes are shared between characters on the same faction/installation (not stored on server).
Sync modes
  • all — Sync across all characters of the same faction/installation.
  • level — Sync only at or above the configured level (default 16).
  • opt-in — Only characters you explicitly enable will sync. (Default mode)
A couple of commands

Code: Select all

/ff - opens ui
/ff status - summary of settings + char state
Recommended setup
Set your preferred settings on your first character → log in each character once (per server/faction) → wait for the initial sync to complete before swapping.
Hope someone finds it useful - available at - https://tools.idrinth.de/addons/fastfriends/

If you have the global on, do you still have to select each friend and change to "A"?

I might be a bit slow and old - hope I understood you right: if you're asking whether, when you turn on sync for "All characters," you still have to log in each character, then yes. The addon has to detect your friends/ignores to sync them to the global list. You do not need to change any other settings in the addon beyond enabling "All characters" once on one character- just give the client time to sync everything, when you log each character in.

And btw, you can have "All characters" on and still opt out of certain characters (that does require you to change that characters setting though). If thats what you have in mind, it might be a good idea to log those characters in first, and opt them out, before turning on the "All characters" setting, so they dont start syncing before you opt them out.

Example settings:

Opted out:

The default is opt-in, where you just log in the chars you wanna sync and open the ui with /ff and opt-in that character.

My bad, I also had Socialwindow-2-0 installed and I was seeing it's options and confused them for yours.
