the biggest problem in this game

Hi Everybody,

Fistly, I wish to thank and grat peoples make work this server. And sorry for my very bad english.

I guess the worst problem in this game is when it's unbalanced between order and destro. And players can play as well in the two side. So players get caracters in two side and loose, they will change to play in the winner side. And the game is more unbalanced. I ask it only when a side is too many. As exemple: 700 destro vs 1000 order, and lot of destro players will switch to order to easy win... It's realy sad, it kill game...

I think the only way is to set restriction, to forbid player to switch in the winner side, only if unbalanced. If they don't wan't loose, they have to don't play this time, not switch in the winner. Because people do it don't deserve to win and ruin game. May be a timer to lock the chosen side, for few hours can be the key.

Thank for reading.

A lockout timer already exists.

I wouldn't agree that's the biggest problem.

It is that players are not incentivized nor given proper tools to fight against the blob.

At 40% AAO and above, it starts getting seriously difficult to find play even for experienced players. It's a lot of sitting around while getting nothing - no one enjoys that. No wonder people xrealm.

Its not the AAO 40+ thats the problem but overrun zones with 100+ players and aao. We need ps2 orbital strikes (khorne nukes anyone?) in these cases to nuke blobs and force spread over maps. I don't give a flying crap if people complain about randomly dying due to playing the over popped side, if that wasn't clear.

I kinda agree with this. I’d also add that the whole idea of realm lockout is actually hurting the game more than many realize. The only time it was ever truly functional was back when highly organized guilds could deliberately raid one endzone just to lock it, then swap over to defend the fort on the opposing realm. But honestly, I doubt there are many guilds left with the luxury of instantly fielding 24 players for that kind of tactic.

In every other case, the belief that lockout actually helps is just a myth. The harsh reality, from my perspective as a day-one veteran, is that while many groups gave up on the idea long ago (thanks to the current system and the never-ending zerging), there are still a few who genuinely want to fight against the odds and are willing to commit to either side with their set 6-man premades. But they often can’t – or they’re forced to carefully plan around lockouts – just to avoid being stuck on the wrong side whenever major warbands suddenly appear.

On top of that, the main point of building a 6-man premade right now is usually to play scenarios, not to fight against massive zergy oRvR, since the game lacks the tools to overcome that and has been steadily shifting toward a system where one-button gameplay in zergs is rewarded more than coordinated team effort from a 6-man – with the changes to WL being a prime example . And because premade balancing in scenarios is problematic – with many stacking on one side – we often can’t even enter oRvR at all if we try to push back against the opposing stack, as scenario balance can shift far more drastically than in oRvR.

I swear to god every new player of WAR takes it as their sacred duty to single-handedly solve population variance by blaming it on mythical cross-realmers and suggesting some kind of penalty

What is it about this specific game that makes people default to conclusion that other players love it to relog just to stand around around in a blob without any enemies to fight?

This is some kind of mandela effect specific to WAR, its been happening since Live and by this point im convinced it will never stop lol

People just log off when they can't play, like, they go do other things with their lives

Most likely when they see a guild on the zerg side and simply blame them for not switching over. Not really doable right now since the number of active developers is quite low atm (using the last 60 days of active commits in GitHub), something like this,

All zones in total have >50% AAO for a realm, remove the realm lockout for the underpopulated side so a guild/players can switch over to balance.

Agree with what others have posted about lack of tools to deal with blobs, etc. and this will always be a challenge in 2 faction games.

Dude never played on live servers. Back when x-realm was not availablet. Almost ALL 60+ servers were one side most of the time.
We once spent literally more then six months on destro when order had 400% AAO everyday. To say it was boring is an understatement.
When you come to play in the evening, and your whole gameplay is standing near enemy wc and do nothing.

A bunch of my friends just stopped playing (from both sides) =/
