Depends on gear really, you need healthy amount of WS probably around 700. Bs around to 950 give or take and depending on your group fs and wounds.
I run 2 fs, 8kish wounds, 800ws and 950 BS+proc from tri, with maybe 15ish crit and its doing alright. Highg burst WE might get me with opener but there aint many of those left anymore

Played with either Beatl: Book ring hat, Warlord: Back Glove Ring, Vanq Shoulders chest belt boots, Sent ring HV ring and 2 rings of choice. OR Warlord: hat shoulder back, Triump: chest belt boots ring, Souv:jevel glove, 2 annullus ws armor pen% BloodL rifle fort spanner.
All WS talis. Bal up to where lini+ trio buff adds up to soft cap, rest full ws and crit RR. Full Gas no brakes build.

Full def support magnet build.
HV: Boots ring, Def souv: Hat shoulders back chest gloves belt ring, Gunbad diamond, toughness regn fleshrenderer ring.
Half armor half toughness talis. Full furtile strikes, wounds toughness RR
Sentry's Spanner of Reverence, Sentry's Rifle of Glory (Blue one! do not upgrade to purple or it looses 20HP all 4 sec)
Anvil Build. Be the magnetic Anvil on wich your WB will slam their Hammers onto.

prev attack souv/trio set combo.
All bal talis. Bal crit furtile 3 RR

What are people's thoughts on the LV set for engi? As either magnet or grenade build.

Auto enchant shatter could be very interesting.

over all the sets are weak because of 2 things. First you can not do proper mix build without loosing the good bonus because of the fact the lv gear has no ring part.
Second, because of the little time and the effort that had to sacrificed because of it, Fraction mirror Sets got implemented. By that, if your class is partially a physical dmg type class like the Engi and your mirror is a pure magic dmg type, like the magus, both armors now lack a specific boost of WS stats. The Magus does not need any WS. But all Engi rifle skills do.
