Massive lag on second account
Massive lag on second account
Is there some sort of conflict when running two accounts from the same IP? My son is now old enough and has created an account. The second PC we're using is better specced than the one I usually use and have zero issues with, but the new account is regularly getting massive lag spikes lasting minutes or more and forcing disconnects. We're both connecting via the same wireless mesh network, connecting via cable isn't an option sadly. Drivers on the new machine are all up to date.

Two accounts from same placee should not be the case, if you have good internet.
Can you please advise specification for PC you have lag:
CPU
GPU
Memory
What Monitor / resolution

Yeah I'd be amazed, the new machine is an AMD Ryzen 7 2700, GeForce GTX 1660, 32G RAM. Both are running RoR at 1920x1080. I think it must be the wireless connection, speed test is showing 134Mb connection. I'll try and get hold of a 20m Ethernet cable for a test!

If Internet by wires not helps, check CPU temperatures. You have old and hot CPU, could be overheat --> causing lags.

Someday server lags hard for me too, and then its miraculously vanish. Started year ago near eu prime time. Diconects, 1--2 sec delays. But im playing not from very stable place right now, so dont know if it connected to your problem. If u get solution post it here pls maybe it will help me too. Oh and game use only 1 core of CPU maybe thats whats making dif between your pc.

Have you checked to allow the Warhammer game and ports through your firewall? it's typically easy to do that.
if that doesn't work, can you connect to a software VPN (chose a France location) from the second PC and see if you still have a problem?

Your machine is more then capable of running the game. If it isn't an overheating issue or a hardware defect i would also point my finger at your internet connection. Just for testing purposes i would plug in an ethernet cable to see if the lag vanishes.

Re: Massive lag on second account
Thanks for the help all, much appreciated. I managed to test it with a long Ethernet cable and as predicted, the problem disappeared. Is that a new PCI wireless card needed, or more likely to be a configuration issue somewhere do you think?

Re: Massive lag on second account
You can try using a different wifi card/ usb wifi adapter. Make sure you get one with the correct driver support for your os.
You can also check your current setup for the correct drivers. Additionaly you can try different frequency bands (e.g. switch from 2.4 ghz to 5ghz or vice versa). You can also run a ping -t command to the server (or its cloudflare load balancer) and see if packets get dropped.
Also run a ping -t to your gateway/router and see if the connection between your client and router is stable.

Re: Massive lag on second account
I think I know how to solve your problem. The problem is your mesh and being directly connected to a router are different.
Try: Log into your mesh settings and see if it has a dmz or gaming port feature. Place the second PC on this (it may have a browse to select the name of the PC or some way to identify it.
