Re: Patch Notes 18/12/2025

Remember what happened with the last changes to wl/mara.
There was a lot of lamenting on the forum that the classes were RIP.
Some people wrote to you, “Take it easy, play and test it out.”
And what happened at the end of the day?
The classes were overpowered.

I understand that you don't like the fact that some things have been restored to normal, such as the armor penetration nerf (I think that a class that has access to armor debuff shouldn't have anything extra to armor penetration) and a slightly nerfed AoE (finally). You didn't think it would last forever, did you? Right?

Give it a chance and play. Just don't expect additional bonuses uncritically. Some changes had to be made.

SL Rampage used to be OP. Now it's a little less so thanks to the new avoid mechanic.

I think the SL/Choppa debuff on yellow is okay.

Choppa Furious Stompin on red is also okay.

The general principle that guided the Devs (I think) to make a bigger difference between aoe dmg and st dmg is very wise and fair.
Overall, a great patch.

May I ask why is the stealth speed boost for Witch Hunter locked behind a tactic instead of being implemented into the ability itself ? Sorry if this has already been answered but this post has 14 pages already. I am just curious regarding the balance discussions that led to making this choice instead of the other

I think it would be better to keep Razor Strike and Burn Heretic as single target abilities by default, for small scale, and have one tactic that makes them AoE both for larger scale

Sometimes you want to use Stagger ability, but you "accidentally" put your Burn Heretic on another enemy nearby, and applied the DoT to both targets, which breaks your stagger. It's quite inconvenient

I feel like brut tree of mara got butchered.

Gut Ripper is a nice ability though, but throughout testing brut build did significantly lower damage than sav build. I think Impale should have stayed as the primary non-cd spammable attack for brut mara. Leave Flail to monstro where it belonged. Also allow auto attacks during convulsive slashing to bring the brut mara to the dps level of sav.

The following changes were implemented, but were overlooked when writing the patch notes. I've updated the patch notes to include them:

General Balance Changes
- Broad Swings - Replaced by Overpowering Blow: 5 ft range. Instant. - You strike your opponent with surprising force, dealing 1200 damage and knocking them down for 4 seconds.

- Frenzied Slaughter - Duration increased from 7 to 15 seconds.

The strong reaction to WE getting a nice pounce where WH have not has got me thinking. This is essentially my main gripe with WL vs Mara, WL is so much more powerful because it has pounce alongside charge where Mara does not... But in a round about way, these 2 sets of classes having pounce on 1 side but not the other is actually balanced. Yes WE feels better because of having it vs WH, but so does WL vs Mara.

I can get behind that, avoids homogenisation and the sense of order favouritism towards WL as plainly balance changes are prepared to give destro a similar pounce advantage in a mirror match.

Rampage though... That needs some explaining compared to what Choppas got. Any Choppas able to share what big buff they got in comparison? Not really seeing it.

ravezaar wrote: Fri Dec 19, 2025 7:35 pm I like the effort u put down into this rework and Iam back testing it out wich is fun again.

All the nice changes sadly is not noticed due one very bad change to already the squishiest class ingame. (same for choppa but talking as SL now)

- While Frenzied, the Slayer has their Armor and Resistances reduced by 25%

with the fact u nerfed parry to ground, then followed up by lowering armor pot values, and the fact SL has no hard CC until 15 sometimes 25s into a fight (its over by then) makes it very hard class to fight.

This weakness is just overwhelming the nice buffs/changes u down in this rework and I hope u reconsider it.

Tnx
Like always - Ravezaar's post are (always) relevant.

Normally, Slayer / choppas are considered like mDPS with medium armor - Their mechanics raised the issue of balancing risk and opportunities by managing the berzerk mode (we become no resist light def armor for a benefit of +50% dps power and somes gain - reflect dmg on retrib channel, hard CC, etc...)
Now 80% of time, We become more fragile and without No hard cc before berzerk mode / no tools anti-kitters (for Slayeyrs) / no disarm-silence / ...

in this blob times, WL will continue to surf the zerg on order side by their survival time, their AoE interrupt & M2 push (compared to Slayers)
just add somes WH for moral pump
Sombrefer - Dwarven Clan exiled from the lost Fortress of Karak Varn
Tyrgrim - Slayer - rr87
Dwargrim - Runepriest of Gazul - RR81
Mordengrim - Engineer
Khargrim - Ironbreaker

and (futiles) Umgi who helps sometimes the Dwarves under the Sigmar's Oath

A 360° AoE dmg
-
return of GTDC Grap with speed buff (career builder info)

we can say that this forum can be named "back to the future" with same duel arguement 3y ago....... except Rampage is no more 100% (even on tank moral) but only a buff strikethrought of 50%

The comparison is flawed and, as is so often the case, superficial, since WL and Mara are originally more group-oriented characters, while WE/WH are primary solo classes and are essentially dependent on mobility, regardless of the fact that all classes are now supposed to play in a single warband, I have no idea why AoE specs are being introduced for WE/WH; you should just play other AoE classes if u love zerg and brainless lemmingstyle pvp.
Furthermore, it's perfectly clear that the WE has far more options than the WH, but that was to be expected. Have fun until the next patch comes out in a year or more. Too bad...
