Hi,
as a newbie, I'm really confused about the Squig Herder.
On Discord, I heard that I shouldn't play him, or if I do, then only as mrSH. Then someone told me that I have to play 90% of the time in my aquig armor in warbands. I think the class looks so cool! I don't want to run around in Squig all the time.
On order, I play an Engi, or rather, I just started and am only CR16.
I've spent the last 9 weeks just trying to get everything to CR 16 so I can at least get a feel for the classes.
Is the Squig really that bad right now? An rmSquig is a mix of melee and ranged combat, so he uses a spear and his bow, right?
I want to play lots of duels/1v1s with the Squig, be taken along in small to large groups, and, if the class allows it, also play in warbands.
I deliberately play the Emgi because the queues for scenarios open up much faster on order. But visually, the Squig has won me over 100%.
[rSH] Up to date builds for roaming / solo?

Squig is strong class and I think it fits what you want to do. You can play rsh for solo, small scale and tbh even in wb but youll be single target dps while 99% of the wbs want aoe dmg.Ziorah wrote: Wed Jan 07, 2026 6:38 pm Hi,

Melee squig is also doable as solo, small scale and more sought after for wbs.
Currently you're gonna have a hard time as solo range sh since its squishy and relies on kiting to survive. (Bal wh will just insta kill you in most cases).
Nonetheless if you prefer sh you should play it and it is good for the content you mentioned. Please do note that there is rdps patch inc somewhere in the (hopefully near future) so things can change to either way.

And compared to Engi? Is it better after all?
Re: [rSH] Up to date builds for roaming / solo?
I dont have Engi so I cannot say if its "better" or not but they're both good imo

I have a fresh 40 SH, what build would you suggest?

Probably this. Alternatively you can just go all out for quick shooting and take more range and run away. Safer for new players due to movement speed abiltiy and longer range.
