All the opinions about balance from proud fellow of "the only realm" are part of the role playing, and nothing else. But the biggest imbalance in the game and its meta is the ability Get to da Choppa. Unmirrored so only one side can use it and protected by hordes and hordes of users storming every serious discussion about it. to burry it under layer and layer of denial and whataboutism.
We have frontline melee combat in this game. We have tanks in this game. And we have collision to player models in this game.
And then we have 1 side, that has an Ability that you can stack by forming a big blob of multiple Choppas and Tanks, to:
- Suck players directly into said blob of melee collision block, where the pulled enemy has almost no chance to even move a single step. (little reminder that Engi and magus pull got nerfed to no longer pull targets into the exact center point of the pull, to prevent exactly that)
And as long as these 3 points are not made equally available for both sides, we do not have to talk about any other class related balance.
Because we are so far gone with balance, that order by now even got used to the fact that most Choppa players know exactly how to place them self
to make sure that the pulled player lands right into the texture of the open keep door to make that player unressable. Where they can pull trough fences with elevation differences that would prevent any other pull, punt or leap, because of the mechanic of GtdC that only has to do a single point of dmg to a target in order to pull it, regardless of the obstacle between Choppa and enemy.
And now .3 2 1 but the lion....
And i am all about it - go on, do some neat RP stuff, its just so bad to give an advice based on the ever-wounded realm pride to a new player.
To the topic starter. As everyone said above - its roughly 50-50 and your experience is 100% about the friends you've made. Join good pvp guild, attend organized WBs, assemble SC's premades and you are going to get some fun. If you are not - guaranteed that you are going to be miserable here. Jesus, roughly 6m ago, I've encountered ppl on destro side policing general chat because some guys weren't grieving enough (!) about other fellow destro wiping on some special occasion of order having some particular skill being really good. It was so heated in their discord that they were talking about b*mbing the servers in Paris.
Don't be like that, don't collect grudges, find a good guild and stick to it.

yes, got me a guild run mostly 12-18 man , sometimes even 24 and there is nothing you can do when the blob gets you. where is the fun in that? it just stinks to the sky if u ask me, but thats just a low player opinion, its not my maingame, so I ride along anyway, what choice do I have, as a fluffbunny xD

I play both sides, gunlinger is rigth. Amount of CC destro have in mass is obnoxious. Hes not arguing, thats well known facts that was discussed bilion times. He even forgot to mention our beloved covenant of cancerity. Everybody who play rvr enough remember how zeals and melle squigs could play pingpong games with whole warband if used corectly, and how toxic gtdc and mara pulls was and still is. And how borks speedboost and celerity making destro unkiteble sticky blobs of death.
Usually people who xrealm from destro to order feel shoked how much things they now need to count in terms off cc and movement to not be fkd immediately.
Mods pls check posts above, they are 1 millimeter back from insults. If someone dont agree with him then provide feedback and arguments other than "bias whining", instead behaving like a pack of hienas.

While it's true as long as we take into account that Moonlight is Sunlight produced by Sun and reflected towards Earth from Moons surface. However, our dwarf friend is acting like Moon would produce its own light...
