Hey everyone,
I’m currently playing a Rune Priest and I’d like some advice on what the optimal build looks like for RvR-SC-City.
-Which mastery tree setup is considered the best right now?
-How should I distribute renown points for maximum efficiency?
-Any recommended gear/talisman combinations?
Is there a big difference in playstyle between city gameplay and large-scale (WB) ?
I’d really appreciate some up-to-date insight or build examples from experienced players.
Thanks

I running this but you can change resto burst if you dont need that much ap but for me its much smoother to play with restro burst. For rvr you could switch out of stagger to get master rune of stability but i like stagger so i use it in every content.
3 Futil strike, 4 spiritual refinement, 2 deft defender, 1 resolve.
6 triumph, 3 sov and a mix of armor/wounds tali.
I didnt play cities for a very long time so i dont really know. but maybe spec more defensiv wise.

What's the reason for more Tri over Sov? I thought the bonus stats on Sov (in addition to the small gear stat increases) was better than the bonuses on Tri.derKleineKerl wrote: Thu Sep 18, 2025 5:41 am RoR.builders - Runepriest

Tirumphant has 6pc bonus proc that reduces cast time.wardfan220 wrote: Thu Sep 18, 2025 11:49 amWhat's the reason for more Tri over Sov? is a 5% chance really worth the loss of other stats?Gladiolix wrote: Thu Sep 18, 2025 12:38 pmTirumphant has 6pc bonus proc that reduces cast time.wardfan220 wrote: Thu Sep 18, 2025 11:49 amWhat's the reason for more Tri over Sov? I would say yes in WB setting where you want to spam aoe heal.wardfan220 wrote: Thu Sep 18, 2025 6:59 pmis a 5% chance really worth the loss of other stats?Gladiolix wrote: Thu Sep 18, 2025 12:38 pmTirumphant has 6pc bonus proc that reduces cast time.wardfan220 wrote: Thu Sep 18, 2025 11:49 am

In smallscale, 6man and smaller, I don't like it that much. You get ST focused a lot as healer, which means you get set back+interrupted so much that you can't get long cast aoe heals through even with casttime reduction. And when you're not getting focused, IMO the uptime is too bad so I prefer the 6% arpen reduction you get from sov.
Re: RunePriest Build
Imo it is worth for all settings. 6 piece triumph proc stack with invader weapon proc and additionally stack with fm so the group heal got around 1 sec cast at some situations.
The new conduit if placed and moved properly could keep the proc quite often. But esp for rp it could proc kinda on your will when use master rune of adament
Bis for all scales imo. Weapon slot is abit more optional for small scale would use invader staff, for orvr dp staff with moral gain seems quite good

Re: RunePriest Build
For 6v6, what would be the most suitable build ? mastery/renown etc..

Re: RunePriest Build
You have options for 6v6 but typically you really want to do something like a grungni / grimnir split. I personally do not like grungni but the stagger is really useful in 6v6 and the absorb tactic / adamant are very important in the grimnir tree.

This is a pretty common talent point setup but you will need to be 70+ to have enough points. Many will skip the absorb tactic(I always run it). You are pretty tactic starved since you will need the + 25% healing from blessing of grungni, the ap tactic, potentially, regenerative shielding or the cleanse tactic, and then defensive tactics like the armor, or stoutness of stone. As far as gear there are options with mixing sov and ranked sets. It will come down to what you want. You can use the ap proc to make do without the ap tactic, double stacking willpower / wounds is popular and whether you want to go for the + 2 spec points or not. Tali choices and renown really come down to what you need and work around your tactic choices, willpower to drop discipline? more armor and maybe swap out the armor tactic if you fee tanky enough? crit and crit reduction are vital.
There is enough going on with RP that you have some freedom in how you build depending on your preferences, group comp, and who you are fighting.

Re: RunePriest Build
Thanks for your reply, it's true that choosing the tactics isn’t easy. I think dropping Discipline and the AP tactic is doable, which would allow me to take “Regenerative Shielding.” For the last slot, I’m hesitating whether to max boost armor or not, since I’m already almost full armor talis.
