Re: Time to recruit some Turtle WoW PVPers
Meh, not sure I'll dive back in myself now. The PvE gearing reqs have really washed out the straightforward progression arc of the game and Tier compression didn't make that any better. The magic happens in Tier 1 and then dies.

Re: Time to recruit some Turtle WoW PVPers
no, don't care about that. more so the first turtle wow refugee i saw in advice chat told people to off themselves (in much harsher words) along with a slew of other verbal abuse. the second one i saw begged for gold for 15mins straight, incessantly spamming chat. and the last couple WoW guilds we had try this game were similarly harmful to the game.
i say all of this as 21 years wow player btw, who still plays both classic and modern. wow player mentality and behavior on average is not compatible with RoR

Re: Time to recruit some Turtle WoW PVPers
Tier 1 is actually fun on most classes because ttk is not so high and solo is still possible. Idk why Defs don't try to bring all other tiers to a similar level.
Re: Time to recruit some Turtle WoW PVPers
Game needs built in voice coms like LoTRO Moors. True Monster play like moors would help as well for a 3rd faction.

Re: Time to recruit some Turtle WoW PVPers
Came here to check it out after playing TWoW since December (Got to Rank 12 on a druid and Rank 11 on a Shaman). Easily the best freeshard WoW server I have played on, lots of custom content. Most of the Turtle Wow people have moved onto another Freeshard called Ascension. Besides WoW being a total time suck, that version of the game is too arcade like for me (not to mention buying gold etc).
I played this game after playing DAoC for many many years. When it died, I think I was RR80 something Slayer and RR80 WP. I will say, it is just as janky as I remember it. This game is great for nostalgia and the fun for me was always leveling up a new class and running around in T1 zones. The one thing I have always disliked about this game is population imbalances. I do not want to play on the over populated side, but I also do not like being zerged down in open RvR. Trying to find the balance has always been a problem with Warhammer. One side is typically always over populated. Currently at night Eastern Time Zone, it's Destro.
For players coming here from anywhere that have never played this game, they will not stick around long. Hell, I played this for a very long time at retail and I may not. It's just sooooo, dated. Re-learning all the little quirks and interface has been a challenge. I'd go as far to say that DAoC Eden is more up to date than Warhammer RoR with QoL and Interface.
Long story long, Are Runepriests cooked here? They used to be the best healer during retail. I'd like to play a WP "healer" but that doesn't seem feasible.

Updating this game for the modern age has never appeared to be part of the equation. In most regards that has never been a issue and I would venture most long-term players of RoR understand that. I mean damn, if you came here expecting QoL to constitute a fore-front issue, you are on the wrong server anyway.

Re: Time to recruit some Turtle WoW PVPers
Was not expecting much, except maybe a better version of the retail game, which this seems to be. At launch, this game was a hot mess.

No, they'd like Scenarios though but SC's appear to be the red headed stepchild atm dev wise.BG's cross over well with SC's but the push to change RvR and the Tier "compression" and throwing a PVE detour in gear progression kind of works against the PVP heart of the game. Realm Rank is king. PVE was supposed to never be on par with it - any attempt to do that will fail - unless you literally rebuild the game from the ground up.
