What is your favorite tank, and why?

Every tank has its own vibe.

BO, KotBS, BG, SM, Chosen, IB:
some shine through their effectiveness, others through their gameplay, their look, their lore… or simply because they have the best style in the middle of a massacre.

So let’s be honest:
what’s your favorite tank, and why is it obviously the best?

Historcally, the Ironbreaker. The aesthetics, lore and functionality ( it requires the most IQ) always made it the most fun to play in my opinion. A good IB will distinguish himself a lot more than a good kotbs/chosen which are simple to play in comparison and easier to do good with.

Currently, i don't know. Due to the agenda of these devs to nerf the Ironbreaker i haven't (it seems we were even lied to since no GnM has been restored) played mine for years.

SM is fun but not enough to be main character, kotbs looks nice in endgear but is too simple.

As for destro tank classes, i like the Black Orc, looks good and is fun, but like the SM it can't hold my interest long enough.

Well, the answer is IB, always will be, despite not playing it anymore.

Hmm a good chosen/ knight can control a skirmish in a way IB / BG never can. An inexperienced player still performs average

Exceptional IBs/ BGs that push the limits of the class can be an intimidating line breaker or if average a hardly noticeable guard bot

Sm/bo currently are needed for a wb to perform consistently. If you don’t know how to do this it is unga bunga play

So to answer the question old BO with aoe snare + THC > BO wo aoe snare > BG > SM > Chosen > IB > Knight (feathers are an issue)
A reasonable RvR system that could make the majority happy http://imgur.com/HL6cgl7

Depends on what I feel like playing and what type of content.

So to back up my argument I guess I should be transparent with my tanks.

Chosen 80+
KotBS 80+
BG 80+
IB 80+
BO 80+
SM 60+
IB 60+ (yes two)

Ranking them based on fun:
  1. IB, balanced tank and quite active, low downtime.
  2. KotBS, fun both in WB and small scale, while not being a very active tank compared to other tanks it allows for a lot of plays.
  3. Chosen, maybe a bit more fun in small scale compared to KotBS, or if you want to run solo, but I do not like the SnB play style at all. Which is why it is ranked below knight
  4. BG, fun with 2h (though I still prefer IB 2h over BG), I really struggle to find the SnB play style fun on BG especially compared to IB. Best part is probably the punt.
  5. BO, while I do not dislike the mechanic of BO the changes have made 2h feel really clunky, the 1,5 sec GCD hit it hard. The "normalisation" did not help this career at all. When it comes to SnB I experience that you in many cases need to sit idle waiting for the right moment to use an ability, which kills the fluidity of the career.
  6. SM, WW kills the fluidity of the career and that is it.

SM, my SM Silverduke looks better than the rest. Even had several destro players login to order to tell me how cool the toon looks. Though I haven't played him much in a few years because I'm an altoholic and constantly changing which toon I play.

I've always felt IB - best at keeping a single player alive. Knight - best for overall group survivability. SM - Best at adding offensive utility. But the player matters more imo.

All tanks are fun to play and effective at what they do. I don't subscribe to the knight/chosen being boring. You are having to make split second decisions to help keep other toons alive, on all tank classes.
