Thanks so much for the explanations. I have to say, things are already going much better than before. I’ve taken a lot of the tips here to heart.

Where should I put my Renown points? Right now, I have 4 in Reflexes (parry) and 3 in Opportunist (crit).

I’d really appreciate it if you could help me out here ;)

Hi everyone,

my Witch Elf is officially hitting RR64 today! Even though I’ve been asking around about other classes on the forums lately, my heart just belongs to her!

My current spec:
Path of Carnage (down to Pierce Armor) & Path of Treachery (up to Sacrificial Stab).

My current gear:

My planned Glass Cannon progression target pre BIS:
https://rorplanner.pages.dev/#/?a.c=l&a ... 540571&s=5

So far, so good. But here is my dilemma: I am hit with a massive wave of uncertainty about whether I should actually commit to this pure Glass Cannon path.

People told me that the WE starts to shine around RR60, but honestly, I’m not really feeling that massive power spike yet (which might easily be a skill issue on my end). Since my gold and crests are limited, I can only afford to fully invest in one BiS build right now, and I want to make it count. That’s why I’m heavily considering a pivot to the 'Def/Regen' build to try something completely new.

My questions regarding the Def/Regen path:
What does the actual stepping-stone roadmap look like for a Regen build starting right now at RR64? What should my intermediate Pre-BiS look like (Dungeon sets, PvP sets, or a mix)? I would highly appreciate any RoR-Builder links to show me the way forward from RR64 to BiS.

I assume the final BiS setup for that looks roughly like this armory profile, correct?

https://killboard.returnofreckoning.com ... 704/armory

Before I reset my character and dump all my resources into this, I need a reality check. Is the difference in survivability truly worth losing that top-tier burst? I mostly play casual Scenarios, unorganized WBs during the evenings, but want to try play some solo Games in the lakes.
Isn't a Def/Regen build somewhat sub-optimal in SCs compared to open-world solo roaming? I know it's a trade-off—if I face a group with three healers backing each other up, my lack of peak burst means I won't be one-shotting anyone anymore.

Would love to get your expert insights on this crossroads!

@Narfii – I’d be especially interested in your thoughts and a link for that higher-STR variant of the Def build you mentioned earlier!
