Cost of +25 talis

I heard a rumor that new +25 talis will be gated behind champion's marks (dungeon speedrun currency). Just on the off chance that it's indeed true... could you please not? Not gate yet another BiS thing behind easily the most lame and least fun activity in this game aka dungeon runs? I thought about it for 2s and came up with 1000x better idea, put new currency for these in fortress bags, make campaign matter ever so slightly more instead. The only thing that's less fun than doing dungeons, is having to speed run them.
I really hope that whoever i heard it from was just trolling though.

What about armor and resist talis? Are they excluded from new updated version of talis

As the wiki explains that does seem to be the case, and I personally dont agree with it either.

First lets examine what the +25 talismans are supposed to do and achive on the server. It is clearly a Warcrest sink, with the soonish change to 10k ring prizereduced to 2k. Alot of warcrest on exsisting characters will no longer be needed for BiS and can be used for secondary sets to have variety in the game. This is overall good. The warcrest sink with the +25 talismans are then a little chase item to still keep warcrest relevant, outside of the weekly consumption of pvp healpotions which in themselves already serve as a mini warcrest sink.

So on top of the Warcrest, what can we speculate the devs are trying to do here with the additional prices of 100gold coins and Champion marks.
First of all the goldsink is not the worst idea, argubly this server doesnt have too much to spend gold on when you have played long enough and are setup with alts, tradeskills spread across those alts, or having a strong guildvault system supplying players with consumeables and talismans. Gold sinks are not the worst, but 100g is just about one gunbad run worth of money. Im not sure this sink will do much, maybe in the bigger picture.

The Champions marks are mostly coming from defeating a boss one-time on hardmode achivement in the lvl 40 dungeons, or from speedrunning. Therefor it does seem like a good endgame link to tie this currency to the super endgame bragging right +25talisman. BUT.. This now goes against the mindset of creating a sink of a currency that is too plentiful. We dont have an overflow of Champion marks on the average player. They already have very good uses as they are:
- Expensive black/white dyes
- temp ror aegis
- guildcoin exchange
- +24 talisman box
- lvl 200 containers for garenteed crit crafts
- Seed bags with 1% chance to drop purple seeds

Champion coins are already in a much higher demand from players than there is a supply! We do need need a champions mark sink tied to the +25 talismans. This is once again the horrible disagreeable direciton the players daily state they are against. The forced BiS acces gatekept in PvE gameplay for PvP items.

Lets look at the already gatekept artificial pve bis items:
- Gunbad when it released having 200 purple seeds bis for making liniments consumables, good gold income, and purple accesories somewhat bis in some builds.
- City dungeons getting a BiS ringslot 3 talisman with powercreep added into sentinel and later on ranked rings.
- Bastion stairs getting the best offensive classcanon weapons and later on doubleedged bloodiron rings for offensive builds.
- Lostvale getting artificial high itemlevel sets creating a direct pve pre-bis armor set, top tier contender weapon dps, and morale pumping procs which was nerfed 2 years ago on tactics, abilities, and now getting reintroduced via pve-only.

I understand the mindset of having put countless hours into recreating pve dungeons, to give a broader gameword, options and content for the server. But you no longer need to force BiS items into PvE. The boss encounters have gotten to a point where they are good and fun enough on its own to satisfy a RoR players tirst for doing PvE content. Either in Lostvale, speedrunning older dugneons, or chp22. You did it! You made good solid encounters, that already have good rewards in +24 talismans, soulstones, wards, money.

The +25 talisman is an endgame chase item. It rightfully serves as a warcrest sink for super lategame to keep pvping, getting bags, killing-loot and weekly rewards feel still relevant. Thats good well done. But we need to put our foot down now, with this attempt of tieing Champion marks into the +25 talismans. We dont want it, and you dont need to do it!

Alternative options to Champion marks:
- Golden Cartoosh. Yes this is timegated but that keeps the pvp hunt for resources each week still as a needed currensy on a replay loop.
It also actually gives winning LOTD more meaning, which its currently lacking outside of a 50k rp tick.
- Rare fortune uppon salvaged having a X% chance to drop a new orange quality fragment needed to craft or buy +25talismans. This will keep monsterfarming outside of Twilights tide still a thing. it gives some economy twist to a currently very outdated set.
- RvR bags having a very low chance to drop a new material pick-option unlocked after RR 80. Each RR pass 80 increased the chance of this currensy to show in the rvr bag as an option. Could also make the chance higher per bag color increased. Something like 0.5%chance at white and 1% at gold. Each RR above 80 gives 0,2% increased chance for the rare +25talisman fragment to spawn as an option in the bag. This would keep RvR zonelocking still endgame and desired for chaseitem +25talismans

Having these +25s as tradeabile items, i feel like goes against what the warecrest sink is trying to do. If they are geting lanched to the server tradeable then they will just be super upscaled expensive Vanq boots/gloves, which again, we already have a warcrest sink doing.

The wording on the wiki seems to imply that we'll be getting at least 1 of those talisman categories in a Pure version.

You will own nothing, you will play PvE and be happy. If not, sucks for you then.

There should be rule, if PvE team add new items, those items MUST be obtainable by RvR. It's not that hard to put vendor with "smuggled" versions. Put price with genesis and war crests.
