When I have had magus/zeal duo. Zealot has been at same level of dmg but with high heal and protection.

Most of it is probably due to backloaded burst of magus does not habe time to kick in propely, but its still disturbingly close. As we are comparing offspec healer and actual dps class

How is it disturbing when you are comparing just single target dps? How's Zealot in AE dps? You'll notice this is a trend for all DPS healers: comparable single target dps, garbage AE dps.

How its disturbing... I mean we are essentially comparing healer and dps here. Zealot might not out perform the dps but its very close doing so, kinda while having 1 hand in a pocket fumbling at something that is not his keys.

Aoe dps is kinda hard to compare as magus can just spread endless pande thro whole pairing and have gazillion dmg done with 1k kill contribution. But i reckon that in moving combat zealot does get very close even in aoe spec, but magus excels in funnels.

Not here to complain, but when asking which one to pick dps, we are in grey area where both are valid depending on situation. Dps zeal and rune is just that good atm.

I will add to my own post that I once had a bet with stink, that if he out dps my magus with his zealot ibwill delete the yellow one. After the buffs zealot and rp got I we had to scrap the bet as it was not so unthinkable scenario anymore and neither of us wanted to see my magus go

Ill base my comparison on numbers we have seen when playing with my dps zealot + Daewuurs magus.

For wb content its kinda the same and really depends what your wb wants or who you run with, for pug wb its definitely magus (since pug wb wont take dps zeal). For org wb it kinda depends if the wb lead wants to take debuffer dps zealot or a magus (maybe they want both). Pure dmg wise, zealot kinda does more when fight is mobile (orvr) and magus comes ahead in funnels.

For sc I would say magus is the better option, dps zeal can still do well but in my own opinion its better to bring heal zealot to sc/city.

Soloing its also kinda upto personal preference, theyre both incredibly good for solo, as Daewuur said earlier. Magus dmg is a bit more backloaded where as zealots is more frontloaded high burst. Which one is better for soloing? Imo theyre both equally good, it more depends on the match up that youre facing. Magus has more cc but zealot has one of the strongest dueling ability in the game (embrace, basically a guard/detaunt with added benefits).

At the end of the day, which one is better dps? Imo Magus since its an actual dps class. Zealot ofc has the bonus that if you wish to heal and not just dps you can do that so you kinda get 2 in 1 deal and also do remember that magus will still be affected by the rdps patch that is still coming so cant really say how will magus look like after that..
