It's against the HC gamers part of those guilds (myself included!). i mean we've all seen in our discords the message : " BIG AAO formin order in 10min' no? ". that is wrong. That kills rvr in 20min. If those were stuck one 1 faction for a week then they would have to play with the rest (with pugs! ).
Guilds like Bene Gesserit i believe are showing the way by chosing a faction for the week.
yes the system will be a mess at start. But after the guild will know who is doing what.
Moreover. Those are the minority of the players. And some of them have multiple accounts anyway. i care about the pugs XP. New players are the futur and i heard 80% are quitting before lvl40....
A lot of people fight purely for AAO. Their only motivation is to get kills, kills, and more kills, regardless of whether the sense of battle, strategy, or even victory on the map is lost along the way.
And let’s be realistic: new players arrive and find a game that feels stagnant, with no active campaign, no clear sense of progression, and, above all, no feeling that their efforts have any real impact.
Many of them barely get to understand how RvR actually works. There is no sufficiently visible objective-based progression to help them understand what they are achieving, why they are fighting, or how their actions contribute to the advancement of their realm.
And to make matters worse, many warbands and guilds, instead of trying to win zones —and accepting the risk of losing while doing so— prefer to spend four or five hours fighting from warcamp to warcamp in Eataine, High Pass, or Praag, just to name a few examples. In the end, it is more comfortable to maintain a constant fight than to take risks and make decisions aimed at actually advancing and winning the map.
Without that sense of realm pride —or, at the very least, the satisfaction of conquering and locking zones— many players end up seeing RvR as nothing more than an endless succession of fights and kills with no greater purpose.
That causes an important part of the game’s essence to be lost and, especially for new players, makes it much harder to understand the point of RvR and to find a reason to keep taking part in it. I’ve been dealing with new players for many years, and I usually talk to them when they stop showing up on Discord to find out why they quit. This is, by far, one of the reasons I hear most often for leaving the game.
And yes, there is currently a clear lack of campaign objectives, something that finally seems likely to change. But the problem is not only the system itself. There is also a mentality problem among some warband leaders: for them, the only objective seems to be killing, killing, and killing some more, even if that means maintaining repetitive and boring situations for hours for a large part of the server. But those few WB leaders end up hijacking the game just to feed their own egos.
And it is precisely that sense of realm pride that can create some of the most epic situations in the game: unbalanced battles where the underpopulated realm still manages to win, sieges that end in victory against all odds, or small skirmishes that, even if they do not provide major rewards, become memorable.
Those are the kinds of moments that make you feel as though you are actually taking part in a real war, and they are what give RvR the sense of epic scale that fits the Warhammer universe so well. Without a common objective, without rivalry between the realms, and without the feeling that your actions can change the course of the campaign, the game too easily ends up being reduced to a simple competition over who can accumulate the most kills

They could make a few changes as band-aids till the big RvR overhaul comes.
I don't understand what's the harm of trying things out. Not every change has to be set in stone.
Like, trying how people play if kills in RvR don't drop crests anymore. Do they still blob and zerg the WC? If only BOs and Keep-flips gave crests, would everyone stack on one side? Then maybe, give keep defenders with AAO a massive buff, but only inside the keep, maybe only inside the lord room. A massive crest boost for an evenly populated zone-flip, decreased crests for zone flipped with heavy AAO. The list goes on and on.
Many people had good ideas that, at least, could be tried out. Even if it's only for a month. Again, what's the harm? If it doesn't work out, set the changes back and try something else. People are starving for a change.
And maybe realm pride would come back naturally without heavy realm locks.

Imo the problem with " trial programs" is that devs are volunteers with limited working time. Investing time and effort into something that will be " turn off" would be waist of time from perspective of working time and force. Its better to invest time and effort into something that will be "end product "

I think the problem lies in the fact that, according to the developers, the entire RvR is programmed in C# (or something similar), and there's no specialist in this old code who can fix or do new things.
I think they said they were changing the RvR to another programming language, but don't take my word for it because I don't have confirmation.

Re: Xrealm thoughts
Aside from this post i've started pass on the idea that orga'leaders should stop making 'Formin AAO side in 10min' through discord calls. During off hours (40/100 population) that kills rvr real quick.
Instead they should mount 6-12 men with close friends and open their wb for pugs like Janis or Kpi do.
again: for mornings or afternoon wbs only. Kpi and Las are already on night shifts lol
but they got me on the idea that Xrealm is necessary to balance prime time content.
Altough i wouldnt mind trying going through a ice era with a week lock down and look for equilibruum there... but that will hurt!

Or people could just learn reading their spells, optimizing their build, getting good UIs, learning positionning in fights and use all the tools that are available to them.
Re: Xrealm thoughts
Game would lose players who decide to play on aao side in organised way.
On othere side, there was time when some leaders done that, even on pug level.
Picking some of guildies then filling missing spot from /1 and /5. And if you are long enaugh you know what players from good guild ware train that way.
There is less players who wish educate others in positive sence. There is less information flow and leaders who take newcomers by hand and let them learn in more predictible environment.
Its some kind natural progresion that keep players in game.
How long player will have fun from "pvd"? - there must be natural progresion and aao fight give it.
Forcing artificil ballance is risk of "losing" both types of players(aao/apathy)
Thats why also keeping BO and sieges fight should not be "that important", keeping deathmach in zone as important factor motivating both types players to login.

Re: Xrealm thoughts
At the end of the day, the problem and the fix for Xrealm, Zerging and all the good stuff that everybody hates and everybody does, is -> Make it less efficient and make it less rewarding. Make it rewarding sticking to your realm, give small-scale roaming a meaningful and rewarding purpose. I am pretty sure if that would be what the owners of this servers wanted, they could do it, but reality is, they don´t. Lockout timers imo do not work in a f2p game. You use 2 accounts, you use VPN or god knows how creative players get to circumvent punishment.

I wanted to add my opinion here. KPI, thank you because you're trying to put forward ideas. I wanted to address a couple of issues since i don't think the numbers always tell the full story:kpihuss wrote: Tue Aug 18, 2026 1:12 pm- 18-hour lock (minimum, 1 week ideal).Jajcek12 wrote: Mon Aug 17, 2026 8:17 pm So what are conclusion?
Any proposition?
So its subconcious turnback to campain when one side push forts to city and dominate lake for time required to push to city ? Hours/days ?
Current system ballance itself around resolved sieges , i would start thinking from this point. Few hours to take keep ,depend on timezone.
Players decide to : stop , continue, xrealm when siege resolve.
Current system gives player possibility for independent participation in microcycle of lake fights without regret that he must participate in few hours "think tank"how to push/throw city. And since win/lose cycle is short there is not long "one side" domination time.
I belive its more fitting how players invest their time in game those days.
- New random events to help the underpopulated side (NPC patrols between BOs, better castle upgrades).
- Incentives for the overpopulated side to lay siege and fight from a disadvantageous position.
- Extra resource generation for the underpopulated side to upgrade their castles before the overpopulated side upgrades theirs.
- Cap maximum players on oRVR like on forts, or add a delay system to respawn or get inside of the RVR zones to overpopulated side.
I would rather have a reward system for playing one side that builds up slowly and maybe maxes out over the week. If I have characters on both sides, it's a bad player experience to be locked out for a full week. The reward system would fall flat because people swapping from BiS to BiS won't really care about the bonus. The lockout system would make players quit immediately.- 18-hour lock (minimum, 1 week ideal).
I love this idea, dynamic PvPvE events are really cool. I know they tried adding one and it broke the entire server, but I hope to see more of this in the future. I don't think these events should be based on population though. Most of the time, Order is outnumbers but still outperforming/outkilling Destro. So, in fact, what would happen is that Order gets the advantageous events and the kill gap becomes even bigger. I think dynamic events should be based on zone trends. Such as: did a faction just get their progress reset? Small event to try and catch up. did a faction just get rolled and is now down 100+ kills in the zone? little funnel event on a BO or something. Both sides would get bonuses for participating, disadvantaged side would get a lot more. The idea is to help momentum even out after a major event happens in the zone. I think AAO is a poor measure of that.- New random events to help the underpopulated side (NPC patrols between BOs, better castle upgrades).
Hopefully this will be addressed in the campaign rework. But compared to fighting in a zone, sieging is very boring. 30 minutes of setup for maybe 10 minutes of funneling? it's not fun- Incentives for the overpopulated side to lay siege and fight from a disadvantageous position.
https://maartenson.net/ror_campaign_timeline.html Destro is the overpopulated side and already attacks far more than Order. Order has a much higher success rate. Again, population isnt' the issue here, veterancy and gear. By giving the de facto under populated side more ability to level their keep while dominating a zone in kills will effectively kill the campaign and oRvR.- Extra resource generation for the underpopulated side to upgrade their castles before the overpopulated side upgrades theirs.
This will cause the overflow players to log off immediately. It will split warbands, friends and groups. You already have locked zones: Scenarios and Cities- Cap maximum players on oRVR like on forts, or add a delay system to respawn or get inside of the RVR zones to overpopulated side.
Overall, I think these are good ideas but the issue isn't population, nor is it xrealming. The reality is that Order over performs with less players due to having more veterans and stable players while Destro have more news players coming through. Addressing it as a "population" issue and not a veterancy issue will effectively kill this game. The one reason this game can continue to exist is because new and returning players keep trying it

#2 I think this may be the way. We have pretty good communication across Realms, forming into AAO pugs and forming into org v org is a different beast. I think it'll take some trial and error but this is a good idea
