Whats with the new channeling bug?

Rend Soul- melee channel which heals dok- seems pretty impossible to make go off- each time it appears to start, then stops, without locking the ability, or having any effect. Got me killed several times already.

Some new bug, or some order finding a new and exiting way to exploit?

Does it only happen in pvp are does it happen on mobs in pve?

Was it only happening on the same person or multiple people?


Regardless, I'd imagine your going to be directed to the bug tracker. :)

Could this be a byproduct of the melee range bug?

Every time channeled bugs are mentioned I get more and more worried for choppas cause a big part of their survive ablity comes from the channels self heal

I noticed the same on my WP. Not only on my version of melee heal, but in almost all spells. It simply cancel the ability at 25~50%, has no effect and also triggers the cooldown.

I don't think that it's an exploit, could be due to server lag maybe.
I also live with Righteous Fury problem. I have a purple book that should regen it at 8RF/Second but sometimes in RvR and in SCs it doesn't work. Mourkain Temple SC and Marshes of Madness areas are the worst for me coz RF doesn't regen passively, i have to use the ability to regent it or get in melee range to hit the enemy and generate RF.

So i think this is not a 'new' channeling bug, but a persistant one.

As long as you wait for gcd to be up before starting cast it should stop afaik.

Noticed this bug on my BW with Withering Heat, sometime it just stop w/o reasons, and w/o cooldown.

Ok, so playing yesterday I run into same bug on keep lord, which I doubt about using exploits, so apparently its not order xploiting but a bug.

Also, other doks ingame run into same bug, so not just me.

And with most important class ability as dps dok not working, class might as well be unplayable, no would love it to be fixed soon.

Is it possible that it has something to do with second check added to spells cast in recent patch? If so, I doubt it should apply to melee channels.

This has been posted to the bugtracker already (where, I might add, all bugs should go.)

Channels are implemented as buffs which are cancelled if the caster loses focus. Therefore, if the target's buff list is full, as will be the case with keep doors, keep lords and any other target which has enough HP to withstand a zerg, channels may become unreliable. Since this only happens in zerg versus high HP target conditions, it's not a priority to fix.

Other cancels are because of the melee range issue.
