There should really be a tip guides for new players on all the different classes.
I have rolled a slayer and I don't know how to build him. I like big two handers and the path of the giant slayer looks cool, but everyone else seems to dual wield. Are both paths viable? Is the class designed better for solo damage or should I be going dual wield and spamming flurry via the skavenslayer path.
For equipment it is just Strength and Weaponskill right? I seem to die pretty much right away without healing so I feel like dropping to much in Tough and Wounds is a mistake.

Re: Slayer Builds
I only have a choppa, and I can say a few things.
Everyone on advice chat says dual wield is preferable mostly because it gives a passive +10% bonus to your parry chance.
Also, just be aware that you are going to need Guard and significant heals. You are going to be on the front lines, with a big "KILL ME" sign on your forehead. I don't know if Slayers grown in size like Choppas do when they reach full enrage, but it increases incoming damage by +50%. If you get knocked down, your rage continues to build and you can be sitting there with a +50% debuff getting trained like a dumbass.
The playstyle seems to be based entirely around rage management. For a frontline melee DPS, it's not a fun idea for me. All of the skills and utilities, as well as the enrage mechanic, seem perfect for PVE. But alas, this is not a PVE game. You will get focused and draw a lot of attention in RVR/scens.

their are 2 real builds for slayers
2h

DW:

2h IS strong, the problem is that dw path with shatter limbs and inevitable doom has the stronger (and perhaps more questionably balanced) abilities overshadow the 2h play style

Wrong the REAL reason that slayers go dw is because their best ability is inevitable doom that requires DW to use

Re: Slayer Builds
Spell breaker has the potential to be extremely strong, but I think that's the problem... ID is just more reliable. And the 10% extra parry from DW is way stronger than the block breakthrough on 2h.

Re: Slayer Builds
Ok I understand. I didn't notice ID hit multiple enemies as well that looks really good. I appreciate the help.
In combat what should be my bread and butter abilities to use? Since I have a 2 hander, I have been relentless, pulverize, and then hitting them with deathblow. In big messes, I usually just spam flurry then deathblow or wild swing, which ever is more appropriate.
I always try to start out with the warcry. I only use Reckless Gamble and Fierceness if it is a fight I am sure to win or against the defenseless keep door. I am only 17 and my armor is not very good so I figure avoid trying to make the healers job harder.
Does the shatter limbs ability stack or is it a 5 second cool down? IE should I shoot for that and go flurry, shatter, wild swing over and over.

Re: Slayer Builds
bread and butter ability is spine crusher, use the nerfed buttons addon to set up the spine crusher, enervating blow thing
Reckless blow should always be left on
Let the tanks bash on the door
Shatter limbs lasts for 10s and cools down after 20s however this is why order 6 man party's run 2 slayers, because 2 slayers toghter result in 100% uptime of shatter limbs
I would suggest getting reckless gamble and deep wound first in my opinion

Re: Slayer Builds
Spine crusher in 6 man party when every second is valuable is not a pretty good option, as you might waste a lot of time positioning, watching that skill doesn't launch as it should.
Overall I played slayer as my main on live, and though I've tested and switched often between giantslayer build and dual wield, the second one was always superior.

Re: Slayer Builds
As an mdps....why are you not attacking from the back?
Dont be a bad, circle strafe your target

Re: Slayer Builds
The lack of flanking (taking third stat tactic instead, wth) in your builds speaks for itself.
