Open RvR Gave Meaningful Renown!

I think the underdog faction will still take BOs, just not for renown flip farming.


From the point of view of a small premade running around, we flip BOs for two reasons.

1: To attract people to a good choke point BO to kill them. (To attract people in general)

2: To keep the fighting in that zone. If we are in Emp, with 300 AAO, we will take the BOs so they can't take the keep anymore. This keeps them in that zone and lets you continue to get great RvR and thus renown.


The problem with T2, which nothing can be done about, is a lot of the BOs are hard to defend. A few are defend-able with a smaller group vs many (Crypts, Ironclap, Spire). The majority of them are too open to defend when massively outnumbered.

1 only holds true prior to the keeps being unlocked for capture, after that point in an AAO environment you will have plenty to kill near the keep, and kills made there are worth more. On top of the keep being a much easier position to defend and fall back onto, like you said some BO's just aren't friendly for smaller groups or even full 6 man premades.

2 is good point, but i think you again take a big risk (renown rise) when trying to keep fighting in a zone because if you are running around for objectives when the zerg is on the keep if you fail to keep them in the zone you lose a lot of potential renown you could of got defending the keep successful or not.

It is that risk you take, which is why I think you should be getting more RR for objectives if you have AAO.

Oooh yes, did complete RR39 and 50% of RR40 in that giant zerg in Shadowlands today. It was marvelous! Until the order zerg logged out and was suddenly to be found on destro side.


Though, I still hate oRVR itself.
