Mouse software drinks potions for you when your healthy goes below 30%? Even when you weren't watching? It waits until immunity expires on your target to disarm him?
Your scope is pretty limited on what NB is. If you use it for 1 thing, don't defend the entirety of what it is.

Word of Pain and Boiling Blood are no longer able to proc anything. The Bright Wizard College has confirmed this is a big deal. (stealth nerf)

This topic is great, all this, because of a glorified macro tool.
Would like to see your reaction when certain combinations of addons allowed healers resurrect through solid walls.

What you hope to gain from droping NB and how will it improve Warhammer?

Re: Nerfed buttons
Not necessarily, however players who are "good" at the game and don't benefit much from NB certainly have a stake in getting it removed... because that will technically drop the skill floor for a lot of players reliant on it.woot wrote:essentially the tryhard premaders who afraid to leave warcamp w full grp don't like nb and everyone else pretty much doesn't care?
ToS cannot stop simple (does not change game files or read from the games RAM) scripts. It's against the rules in every **** game but they cannot stop it because it would be illegal to sniff around your processes etc...Bozzax wrote: No not really
I'm just pointing out to you that the EVIL MAGIC of NB is possible with the simplest MMO mouse as you seem to lack basic gaming experience and understanding.
I also suggest you actually read the TOS.
A PvP/Competitive game must be designed so that simple keyboard/mouse scripts do not give a big advantage. And in the case of WAR I don't see you gaining much aside from certain aspects of crafting (cultivating in particular) and things like a really primitive PvE farming script that just spams tab and a set rotation in a timed interval. I saw a lot of people doing the latter when purples where dropping in PvE. And I wouldn't be surprised if over a 1/3rd of the people with cultivating had some kind of auto clicker to go with miracle grow.
But you cannot put the blame on those people, this means that cultivating is designed like **** (and it is) It also means the PvE farming in this game is extremely static and boring and can be automated by a primitive script a 12 year could write in 5 minutes.
On the topic of nerfed buttons, it is essentially like a script that reads from the games RAM, and gives the player information and automizes certain aspects of play. How this never got snubbed on live is a real **** mystery to me, or a testament to how casual the game has become.

We already have. They are saying it removes the benefit of skill by having the addon play the game for you. Therefore making the competitive aspect of the game less meaningful. They also claim other addons don't help you in any way other than changing the look of the game so they are obvious full of ****.CarlistRieekan wrote:I really love that noone has bothered to answer this question yetBozzax wrote:Out of curiosity

If it were up to me, I'd remove macros from this game entirely and anyone using NB would be suspended. NB, to me, is a form of cheating. It's not explicitly stated that it's cheating.. but I consider it to be cheating.
You can literally play any class with 1 button entirely, just by adding condition checks, effect checks, positional checks.. it's idiotic to even say that it doesn't make the game easier. You can take the marauder and put his stances in the rotation and play the class with 1 button.

If you have to use NB you're pretty much bad in my opinion.
BY THE WAY, this isn't aimed towards people who are abusing NB. This only goes out to the players who use NB as a crutch and are trying to defend it's use.

Lies. Non-target MMO don't have assist, you must aim manually, you even need to use your mouse hand.Soulcheg wrote: In every other MMO, there is assist function. Every. Even nontarget ones.

Taking this example it's pretty much idiotic that you think NB is making your live easier with a 1 button rotation. You can do it, but it is so much worse, because it is SLOW. You will lose against anyone without NB.Ungrin wrote: You can literally play any class with 1 button entirely, just by adding condition checks, effect checks, positional checks.. it's idiotic to even say that it doesn't make the game easier.

Re: Nerfed buttons
Yet the seemingly unconvinced proponents of the addon claim it does not play the game for themselves. I left live servers before NB was introduced so I don't know how great or low its influence on endgame was but my experience with RoR leads me to the conclusion that some classes clearly benefit more from the addon (which imho causes the new layer of unbalance).xavra42 wrote:We already have. By the way, I share Vigfuss' point of view - conditional checks are the real problem, not the idea behind the whole addon.
