About item lost with reboot 13/10/2015

I think the prevailing theme here is a server restart brings back your lost items, as many people have lost things. Just be patient and wait for a server restart.

A special moment indeed - I never lost anything from any of the restarts, but this one emptied at least 3 or 4 slot randomly on my toons. On some toons jewelry lost, others have backpack slots emptied with anything from crafting materials to stacks of loot like 20 rare dyes worth 40 gold. I am not sure what caused this, but if restarts will continue do it like that - my toons will have zero in a couple of weeks or so :p

Not expecting any replacements, but would be awesome if something could be done to prevent such phantom thievery in the future ... or I may have to call in an exorcist

PPL if you lost something wait for another server rest you know well that most of times itiems return cos it's a database connection issue camon

Hello !!

Well, sorry for the inconvenience, BUT ! Your items are still in DB so they are not really lost ( for the moment :p ), only not loaded for this cession...

The actual problem is that all the DB is loaded in memory ( some Gigs and more and more each time ). This cause some dataflood for hardware and data lost during loading (AND LAG), (but they are still on the DB). On the next reboot if we don't change anything ( Dascoub and Aza are taking a look atm), Some of you will retrieve their item, other lost some, etcetc.... )

Imagine a big splash in a glass of water. You item are the droplet around the glass.

For those who have lost equiped item, you can check on armory, your stuff still here.

The only point i can't swear on it, is what will happen if you replace an item on slot and disconnect. Is the item replaced and the oldest deteted? dunno...

So it seems we finally have targeted the problem and trying to make some fix atm. This may take some time, so don't wait for a reboot tonight. The good news is all this small DB charge in memory + DB optimisation will - i hope - avoid the problem for the next reboot, and in a small proportion help a bit to reduce/delay lag issues ( this will be a micro enhancement. other options are on studies for lag issues )
