Do I need to switch careers to be viable?
Re: Do I need to switch careers to be viable?
Forgive me for the questions but I only recently started playing. Is it true that mirror classes still have some differences? Like blackguard isn't as good as IB because their resource is different or something? Trying to do some research on the tanks and it's hard to find concise information.

"Mirror" classes have some of the same abilities or mechanics but they also have unique abilities that you get at different levels or perform differently. For example, BGs AoE snare requires a higher level than IB AoE snare and is a frontal AoE as oppose to IB snare which is around the IB (no aiming required).
There are little differences here and there that changes the role of a class compared to their "mirrored" counterpart.

no black guard and IB are 2 of the best mirror classes in the game neither is worse or weaker than the other, ib is more defensive in nature with strong buffs focused on allies
blackguard is more offensive in nature with more focus on killing and harassing healers and casters and has buffs focused more on them selves and more debuffs
blackguards buffs and debuffs overall are "weaker in nature"(though this is all relative) but this is because blackguards mechanic resource builds faster than ibs

Thank you so much for the informative post, greatly appreciated. Since SM seemed lackluster compared to the other tanks I shall continue my adventures as a Blackguard.

Won't regret it. BGs are incredibly fun. Just get to level 25 and Q for Tor AnrocLimey wrote:Thank you so much for the informative post, greatly appreciated. Since SM seemed lackluster compared to the other tanks I shall continue my adventures as a Blackguard.
