The fact that some random guy chose this exact name for his character just shows how unoriginal the name was. Find an original one and nobody will accidentally "steal" it.

There are certain players who have taken popular players names and popular guild names in order to demand gold/gear from them after they will discover RoR. I have made some screenshots of an occasion when one of them did happily announce his Masterplan in Advice.

What is devs stance towards such behaviour?

If you can prove extortion, my instinctive response would be to ban the extorter.
