build it backwards

this has very very likely been suggested already. but im going to say it anyhow.

i believe this will get some people back in the game. population is what makes this game work.

build the game backwards from t4. put the level up and renown potions back in the game. let people have the option to fly to t4 and level the toons up with potions. then start building the game from praag --> cw -- > reik. then once thats working go back and start on t1 etc.

imo the majority of people played this game for the pvp. not the quests and pve. if people can be on an even playing field (that means everyone is capped) then people will come back and play. pve and leveling should be put on the backburner (imo).

Agreed, if people had the option of picking up where they left off then I believe they would flock back to this game.

Population is key and this would get it back.

I don't think thats possible. Right now the PvP in t4 wouldn't be any different from PvP in t1, because:
1. Skills don't work (mostly)
2. Capturing the keeps or points doesn't work
3. Let's not even talk about city sieges...

IMO people will come, when the game is more playable. I'm for sure waiting, checking from time to time new fixes. Don't worry about the population right now :)

Is there a specific part of T4 that you were missing, or is it the overall end game experience?

Problem is it's way more than just the skills/abilities that have us playing in T1. Even to play in T4 we'd have to fix the maps and that'd amount to nothing more than a change of scenery (which I heard we're getting another T1 RvR zone btw *.* confetti .*) To actually play at level 40 we would have to fix ALL careers level 1-40 abilities and mechanics, then we'd have to fix career points, renown points, medallions(?), and stat allocation, and put in level 40 gear as well... uhm maybe fix keeps and uhm rams ... SC's maybe? But I mean either way we'd be stuck in T1 a LONG while until ALL that **** was done...

Doing it from the bottom up we lets us take bites of the cookie. Once we get the abilities and mechanics working for 1-10 T1, we get say career and renown points going, then medallions and say renown gear (I mean we can't even get Des right now) Then we can move onto the next 'block' of T1 abilities, mechanics, points, gear, maps, etc. It's like one of those **** ridiculous Asian grind games - except PvP instead of PvE heh

Personally I'd rather get all the character **** done 1-40 (abilities, mechanics, points, gear) and only have the T1 maps to play on (aka screw T2-T4 maps.) It's not that I really like T1 maps, but because, frankly, I don't give a **** what the background looks like when I'm painting it with blood and purple numbers ;)

It's a good idea, but imho folks aren't playing in large numbers yet because the class mechanics are broken, and most everything else. It doesn't matter which way you build a roller coaster, if it's broken no one wants to get on. Give it time and it will slowly be put together!

well yes im saying focus on all the character abilities/stats first and foremost. don't worry about any quests, pqs, npcs etc. don't worry about the zone objectives/mechanics. forget the banks/guilds/AH. forget armour. and i certainly don't think RR needs to be looked at in any way (ever), there will never be enough players for the renown system to function in an enjoyable way, just give people rr80/100 and be done with it.

i simply think the toons (abilities/stats/animations) should come first and foremost. people want to be able to fight.

i say t4 (praag only with no pve) because then all the abilities can be worked on with fully leveled toons. unless we stay in t1 and they turn off the 'chicken' (this would work) but not many people will want to hit on npcs to level. i just think it would be a bit of a waste of resources to unlock t1 then t2 then t3 then t4 in a slow order... i guess if its as easy as flicking a switch then that would be ok, but if it takes away from the development of the character abilities then thats a waste of resources.

imo.

i disagree, its so useless to have working spells if stats not working, **** the spells go for basic content like armor/resist etc, higher lvl content is simply irrevelant no point on them since most of them rely heavily on class mechanics and basic stats. oh and pqs&quests are important one of the very few fluff source it gives the feels beside massbrawls
