I don't know when the little red dots on the mini map denoting the location of enemy faction players was added to WAR but it's absolutely game breaking in a PVP game - particularly when you play with a small group.
I tend to run with smaller groups of 5-10 people in RvR lakes, typically our goal is to disrupt zone flips by capping BO's while the enemy zerg is preoccupied with a keep or other B.O. We also play mind games, set traps, ambushes etc. Luring a few Destro stragglers into the body of our own force with 1 or 2 of our guys. Or waiting in hiding for the main zerg to pass before picking off any stragglers.
Unfortunately these "red dots" make these tactics impossible as any enemy passing nearby immediatly knows our location and is able to overwhelm us with their numbers before we're able to fight back.
This effectively eliminates the only viable tactic in RvR when you are outnumbered.
I would really love to see these silly dots for enemy who are NOT in direct line of sight removed.

I agree, it's kinda impossible to get into a keep (in one piece) for defense when zerg sees your location on the minimap.

Have the devs acknowledged it or are you just saying that because you think that's what it is.Nishka wrote:I agree, it's kinda impossible to get into a keep (in one piece) for defense when zerg sees your location on the minimap.

We have acknowledged that it is a bug. The client is responsible for rendering map pips on the opposing team, but we're not quite sure what causes it.Omarcomin wrote:Have the devs acknowledged it or are you just saying that because you think that's what it is.Nishka wrote:I agree, it's kinda impossible to get into a keep (in one piece) for defense when zerg sees your location on the minimap.

Ah thanks. I wasn't sure if it was intended and folks were making assumptions. Glad you're aware and hopeful you find the solution - though I'm sure it's not yet a priority.Genisaurus wrote:We have acknowledged that it is a bug. How many posts about this do we have to endure? It's a freaking bug! Get over it.
Re: Minimap ESP is a really dumb feature.
you need to look at skavens cos , must be soemthing related to the gutter runner, with him near it allow your realm mates to see neraby enemys on mini map. Even is client sent for base your position package to all there must be type of command to not show it unless the gutter runner is near.Genisaurus wrote:We have acknowledged that it is a bug.
