Devs: NA primetime RVR Needs your Help!

Since the launch of T3 - population during NA primetime (6pm to 1am eastern time) has seen an uptick (was around 150ppl pre-T3... now usually hovering between 250-200).

Unfortunately, the additional population has not translated into a more active RvR environment.

The reason -

The new T3 patch has killed all incentive for RvR:

A. Devastator Gear - totally awesome. Problem - it costs medallions that are more easily acquired via SC's then taking keeps (both due to kills and the new medallion quest).

B. Most t3 players are rr capped / exp capped and therefore do not care about the trivial influence/rr/exp gained from the keep take.

How do we fix this problem?

1. Keep takes need to be incentivized - even if no resistance..you need to get something worth the trouble. At the moment the only thing T3 players care about are the medallions. No resistance keep take needs to award at least ONE medallion to make it still worthwhile to do

2. Keep defense needs to be incentivized - if people received medallions for defending a keep then people would do it - if keeps are defending..people would then want to take them..because taking a defended keep awards medallions (currently two - should be bumped to three)

3. Give the keep take itself more influence reward. BO's are like 150 influence. make the keep take more (regardless of resistance). This is minor and won't completely fix the issue..but it can help.

4. I'll post this because it's been mentioned and I do agree it will slightly help - posterns need to be enabled in t3 to allow defense to be possible. Although - at the moment this wouldn't solve the issue since the taking of keeps isn't happening. Taking keeps simply isn't enticing enough at the moment and as a result - no one is doing it.

Please - rvr is a big part of the game..and unfortunately during NA primetime...it is now completely dead.

giving free rewards for taking empty zones wont fix rvr. Ppl will just switch between the zones so they avoid the fight and take the free loot as easy as possible. RvR problems are totaly different and most of them are conncected with bugs and bad design

I disagree with your point - I think there are a good number of people that would love to go and defend a keep with their six man+ team/guild. But with no rvr happening...they don't.

I do agree with you that the fairweathers will switch sides to get easy keeps..but that is why both taking and defending need to be incentivized. Taking should be incentivized to get the ball rolling - yes make the reward small (one medallion) but still... just that one will get the ball rolling.

WIth that though - defense needs to also be rewarded.

just give us rr 100 and make an SC bracket for lvl 31 only to combat the powergap which should be in place already anyways.

Players need objectives and goals to keep playing their main T3 characters (order as much as destro). I'm not sure gear and keep rewards must be the final content. RR 40 is too easy to reach but RR 40 is enouth for T3. That's the paradox and in my opinion the real problem to solve.

I think the best way to keep players in T3 is to decrease the realm point rate in order that the RR40 be hard to get. Today we got too much people lvl31 and RR40. RR40 should be the extrem reward for a player that play a lot or very win, same for a guild. It should be the final goal for ROR players as much as 13L was for DAOC the most famous reward and RR100 was the same on WARHAMMER live server. ANd you know what, achiving 13L or RR100 was very long and hard on thoses games.

About people already RR40, a good think could be to add may be like 5-10 extra RR in "hardcore" mode to get. I dunno if that's possible or not but i'm pretty sure all reroolers and xrealmers could get something to eat before the deployment of other content developped by ROR team (i mean T4, PvE lairs, PQ with new stuff, etc...).

As a GM of Blood Moon, today we are forced to play destro side because 1) we are all RR max and 2) since 2/3 days destro realm is almost empty... We should't change realm to get RvR content. That's the real problem to solve. Xrealm give us the oportunity to rebuild all we built on order side. ROR server need to provide much longevity for each tiers released to keep RvR activity at his better lvl.

Why is it then that all EU players have the same potential issues as NA players but EU primetime is fine?

Hello,

that is maybe only a part from the problem. But I don't understand why the NA primetime player numbers are so low. Badlands was a NA server and it was always the server with the highes population. I would love to see when the NA prime time has 600+ players online.

At our server are many russian and german players and i think the reason why they are here is because there are plenty german and russian pages that inform players that there is a WAR private server. Many old russia / german WAR players know about RoR. Maybe the NA players need to make more advertisment for ROR tell old friends, search old guild members etc.

Because i am sure when the population is higher the rvr will come from alone.

this! Word of mouth is so important. I only got to know ror from one of my guildmates in rift for example.

As of incentivicing keep take without resistance: NO
incentivice deffing a keep more: absolutly yes.
