Leveling speed

Hopefully I don't get totally crucified for this post.... :D

Does anyone else feel that the leveling, particularly in T2, is actually faster on this server than the old game? I started my zealot just the other day, I don't do any pve at all, I have stuck to playing in the lakes and doing the occasional scenario, I only play a few hours a night (at most) and just got to T3 lastnight - that seems really quick to me compared to the amount of time I've put in. It should also be noted that since the last patch I've purposely tried to avoid gaining rested xp.

The main reason I bring this up is that I haven't been able to complete my rvr influence sets on any of my toons because of leveling out of the respective tier before I can max out my inf AND I usually can't collect enough emblems to snag my scenario weapons before I've outgrown them. I play during the EST peak evening hours and usually there is no shortage of rvr action so I don't feel that this is necessarily a problem with the rate of influence gain or the drop rate on medallions/emblems - it just feels like I'm leveling too fast. And it's really just my "natural" rank that is the problem, I feel my renown rank is progressing at the same pace that I recall from the old game.

I'm mostly just curious if anyone else is experiencing this, but a possible solution (that won't enrage those who disagree with me) could be to lower the rate of regular xp gain and implement xp potions for those who would like a boost. If only I had some kind of xp off switch ;)

Leveling has the speed of lightning with the new "rested xp" feature.

I did manage to fill influence on 3 characters in all zones of T2. But that meant I avoided any action in zones where I had it maxed completely, meaning you either switch characters, or have to idle while the main mob is in such a zone. Also, all characters were rank 20-21 by the time I finished.
But that was before the unavoidable rested XP boost was introduced. I don't think it's possible now, unless you somehow manage to keep your character logged in constantly until you level out of T2.

Yeah i got maxed out on inf in emp at like level 14, now 2,5bars away from 22 and havent reached basic in either of the others... So *a lot* of afking/waiting is needed, kinda dull really. But what can you do, can't force people to do those rvr zones.

I thought it was really slow compared to live. Live I was able to do PQ's and other things. While leveling if the lakes were slow but then again you had siege also so you could take keeps with small groups. Zone Flip with Banners were the way to max your Inf, Exp, and RR on live. I would have to slow it down on Live when leveling and swap characters a lot.

You have to wait and participate in keep takes or defense, otherwise you will level out fast.

T1 and T2 compared to live are slower, T3 is quicker. And the rested XP is nice but I think you gain too much rested XP atm, I logged out and slept for 8 hours (did not play for 4 hours before going sleep) and when I woke up and played I got the equivalent of 200k free XP. I think to make it balanced there should be a cap of your current next level requirement and it should be 5000 XP per hour.

The rested xp def is more than it should be, I saw a post yesterday mentioning that it's a known issue. I guess I'll just have to stick to character swapping :/ As it is I participate is as much bo/keep taking as I can and I do as many sc's as possible in between.

Does anyone know if being in a wb/group yields faster xp gain? If so, I could easily just stay solo on my main character as my current heal spec is not group-focused.

Can we turn off rested XP ?
Or get it only if we log in the city.

I personally was hoping it would only accrue if we logged out in a city but so far it appears that it doesn't matter where you log. I agree that either a setting to turn it off or requiring players to log out in a city would be helpful.

In the original game, didn't players have to be in a city to get rested xp?
