There are a couple of items that can not be dyed themselves because they are for example just made of bone like the Choppa beastlord/merc gear. If you now put a skin on it that could be dyed itself you can't dye it because the underlying item has no color scheme. So you'd end up with a few pieces in your armor that can not be dyed and do not at all fit the overall look.
Is it possible to change this?
