Re: Giving all Classes Dual Roles
All classes are viable in a wb but in limited numbers, the problem is that ppl keep playing overplayed classes and there is no room for them in a wb setup....you need that 33% of players play each archetype for a 2-2-2 setup, but dps classes are overplayed and not enough support for them.Ekundu01 wrote: Thu Feb 04, 2021 11:29 amThat is a really bad solution for some classes that don't have a solid role in end game. Everyone wants to be able to progress a character to the best it can be and to be told once you hit the final frontier that you are not wanted go play something else is not the solution. This is a problem that leaves a lot of people out of a wb slot for city. Every class should be wanted for city and we don't have anything close to that right now.balvor877 wrote: Thu Feb 04, 2021 12:17 am Wall of text critically hits you for 10000
There is an easier solution: Just log another class when your class is not needed![]()
2 questions, lets suposse that this is implemented:
-why you think that a engi/magus (for example) will play a healer role when the player refused to play support and chose a dps class => really think that someone who chose a dps class will change his role to support?? WHY?
-why you think that with this changes the problem with "meta classes" will dissapear?? there will be always a best/max comp for every kind of encounter...you can have more classes with healing roles but some will perform better than others...
Re: Giving all Classes Dual Roles
It solves a bigger problem. What is the most needed roles for city every time? Tanks and healers, there is never enough to go around. With this system players that are willing to switch to fill that role will be able to with the class they like to play. It might not be in the spec they like but they are still making progress on a character they care about instead of being told go play a different class because we don't want your class for city. Even in this system we would still have more dps vs support roles but the gap would be much closer i think and making great warbands would be much easier.detrap wrote: Thu Feb 04, 2021 11:30 amSo I play a tank and now I'm not wanted because a witch elf can tank instead? This doesn't solve the problem.Ekundu01 wrote: Thu Feb 04, 2021 11:29 amThat is a really bad solution for some classes that don't have a solid role in end game. Try being more concise when posting. Book reports usually get passed up on by many.

Re: Giving all Classes Dual Roles
I think that most players if they had a choice being either left out of city or switching to a role they might not want to play but can play will switch so they can get in a spot. Just because they are playing a role they don't usually play doesn't hinder them from making progress on a character they want to play.emiliorv wrote: Thu Feb 04, 2021 11:56 amAll classes are viable in a wb but in limited numbers, the problem is that ppl keep playing overplayed classes and there is no room for them in a wb setup....you need that 33% of players play each archetype for a 2-2-2 setup, but dps classes are overplayed and not enough support for them.Ekundu01 wrote: Thu Feb 04, 2021 11:29 amThat is a really bad solution for some classes that don't have a solid role in end game. As far as meta set ups yes there will always be better classes but that is balance problem. A tank or healer no matter what the meta is will always be a tank or healer, one might be better than the other but if you need that role filled for a group you will take what you can get even if it is the non meta choice.

If i was a wb leader forming up a wb i will never invite a guy to fill a role that he dont want to play...you will?Ekundu01 wrote: Thu Feb 04, 2021 12:03 pmI think that most players if they had a choice being either left out of city or switching to a role they might not want to play but can play will switch so they can get in a spot. Re: Giving all Classes Dual Roles
It just creates even bigger problems by adding a 4th or 5th mastery tree. It's not that difficult to level up and gear more than one class so you can interchange between the two, also makes the general player base better at the game by understanding more than one class. If you want to play a dps but there's no room in the premade, if it's the only character you have then maybe find another guild/pug warband that would take you or form your own group/warband for city. A lot of us had to do it this way. Almost naked witch elf being able to tank and having her deadly blades do 10% of her normal damage is just weird.Ekundu01 wrote: Thu Feb 04, 2021 11:57 amIt solves a bigger problem. Re: Giving all Classes Dual Roles
Sure i would, it would be no different then picking up someone from /5 that you have no clue the skill level of the player and you just hope they know the role they are signing up for.emiliorv wrote: Thu Feb 04, 2021 12:09 pmIf i was a wb leader forming up a wb i will never invite a guy to fill a role that he dont want to play...you will?Ekundu01 wrote: Thu Feb 04, 2021 12:03 pmI think that most players if they had a choice being either left out of city or switching to a role they might not want to play but can play will switch so they can get in a spot.
