Re: Make +160 stats tactics baseline.
i'm all for give racial tactic their own spot but the stat tactic are in case of damage dealer a problem, it's alredy too easy stack damage on some classes that woudl just benefith to more renown point to use in crit.
A thing is give free resistences and racial tactic another is give primary stat boost for free.

Can make another poll on making a separate racial/stat tactic slot

Re: Make +160 stats tactics baseline.
This would make class balancing a nightmare for some classes. And it would create some serious imbalances on some classes. The ones who would benefit the most would be healers and tanks. I would rather not see WPs get even more OP

Re: Make +160 stats tactics baseline.
i would do that for at least resistences tactics which are most of time not used which is sad as they should be something natural for the user and not something to slot.Scrilian wrote:Can make another poll on making a separate racial/stat tactic slot

Or once the devs have the tool tips and such better figured out those tactics cour be reworked into something better.

Re: Make +160 stats tactics baseline.
I was going to make a post about a similar issue when t4 hits, but I guess il put it here.
Its a good idea to get rid of these (along with other "required" tactics like divine fury for dps healers and wot rules/power through for 2h choppa/slayer). I mean this game is great already, but one thing it lacks is build diversity. But the way to fix this is not to build them in. The way to do it is to remove them and compensate in other ways, ie changing stat scaling so stats from other sources are stronger.
This already needs to be done with wps/doks. The difference in healing between 600 willpower and 1k is laughable, and healers not needing to stack the healing stat to heal is one of the worst balance issues in game. There are other reasons why wps/doks are poorly balanced, and I wont get into them but this is a big one, and if its not fixed other changes will be nothing more than bandaids.
if you get rid of discipline and lower base healing values, but increase the healing contribution from willpower, the game will be a lot different. Healers will need to make a decision. Do I run 500 willpower and all armor talis, heal for 500, and be unkillable, or do i run willpower talis, heal for 1k, but lose defense. Renown spec, willpower buffs/debuffs, talis, pots, everything will become more meaningful if you have to decide how to build your character around multiple stats instead of speccing 100% into defense on every single healer in every single situation.
In addition, you could lower the base values for wps/doks by slightly more than for cloth healers, while buffing willpower by the same amount for all. It would be tough to work out the numbers, but all 6 healers could be balanced this way without needing to nerf armor (which is terrible idea)
The same could apply to other classes. Do I stack ws on my choppa, and tear apart tanks/wps, while running 600 str, lowering my damage to cloth wearers? Or do I stack str, and have a harder time with high armor. It seems like a nerf, but if you have an extra tactic to play with, its not, especially if str/ws scales better - if you get rid of brute force and the ws tactic, youd need lower base values but make stats scale more (though not by as much as for healing). Also, if wps/doks are nerfed, dps will not need to be as high to get kills, so again, not really a nerf at all.
Seems like a lot, but you cant just do one or the other. If you just build the tactics in, the game would be a nightmare. I can just imagine the builds my choppa could run with a free tactic slot but the same stats - youd never see a cloth healer again. Whereas if you just take them out, that wouldnt really work either - dps lose more from 160 str than wps/doks lose from 160 will, so nothing will die. You could leave it as is, and balance around these issues, but if you want some build diversity in this game, stats need to be more meaningful.
Its all a balancing nightmare as far as specific numbers go, but at the very least this needs to happen for willpower and base healing values, as healer balance is the #1 issue in this game.

He is right about WP scaling.
But the #1 issue is tank mechanics :^)
