Bastion Stairs issues

Is it normal that the aggro in BS is completely broken? I joined three groups since yesterday and we were incapable of even killing the first mini-boss because the tanks weren't capable of holding aggro (even letting the Tank build aggro doesnt work because you reach the Tank aggro so fast). Another aspect is the boss doing crazy amounts of damage that even SnB Tanks (in Vanq+) can't really tank it for prolonged amount of time (like 4k skill hits, sometimes 7k).

Is it working as intended or is there bugs afoot?

A lot of the bosses there have aggro-reset-mechanics. BS more than any other dungeon needs DPS to use their brains and detaunt (and sit it out), when they get aggroed. Ironically many of them just panic, do dumb **** and then lash out against the tank / group.

Alternatively run BS with 2 tanks. It takes longer but having every DPS covered with guard (and thus reduced aggro) makes the runs a lot easier and smoother.

Taunt is currently not generating enough agrro, reported bug on tracker for weeks now.

Only IB taunt is currently working as intended regarding hate generation.

Against aggro-resetting bosses like BS ones, I agree it also adds to the issue, especially since some like Tar'Ignan needs you to temporarily tank boss with DPS until tank can retake enough aggro.

Best I can advise now is to run with 2 tanks, both with menace tactics, preferably IB tanks, and if only one tank, a mdps with high parry potential (aSW or WH, for instance)

Thanks for the answers.

I used to run BS frequently back in the day and never had quite the same problems as I did the last couple times (had a break and apparently there was a dungeon rework?) so I was very confused why suddenly we didnt even succeed in killing the first mini boss of left wing because everyone was pulling the bosses aggro like mad and tank not able to get it back. But Taunt being buggy at least does make sense to some extent why it was so troublesome.

Ran BS the other day. Seems to be working the same as it used to. Some of the boss mechanics are aggro related so aggro will seem wonky. Bosses often reset or lower aggro for whoever is currently on top of.the list.

Ran it several times last week. Its fine.

I hate to say it but.... you probably have some bad dps that dont have aggrometer installed and do mad damage not caring about it.

Aside from the bosses with aggro mechanics, yes, I have found that it can be a lot harder to maintain aggro when compared to the before the rework but also when compared to the other dungeons.

I have done a few runs so far. The smoothest was solo tanking with my geared 2h SM. But it's a nightmare with SnB KoBS. First mini-boss was painful. Kaarn the Vanquisher, I had trouble holding aggro on him. Doesn't help when rdps sits outside of guard range though. Both times were without any sov to carry the group.

It also seems healers generate way more threat in BS too.

I think what Brizio and Tyrodan say is true, a lot of dps just don't even think, let alone install aggrometer. I admit that I like it when dungeons force dps to think. With so many bosses the onus is often only on the tanks to get stuff right.

The first boss of BS literally immune to enhanced menace like taunt/challenge, even the spamable spell for menace dont generate more of it and the up aggro u supposed to get from ur guarded target dont work aswell, not sure if its all intended, heal need to perma detaunt on boss and dps need to be ready to detaunt and use def cd aswell cause the boss gonna reset aggro too and switch target (do not panic and drag the boss in your healer or anyone else) tank be ready to guard the next player focused by the boss asap
