You are the first who made the claim that color matters, you go first.Stortz wrote:prove it
Re: Small Quality of Life change, easily implemented
Proof? The color can be changed. Advice was the only chat channel for a long time(which was why so many people where in the habit of chatting there). People like to comment on things, and advice has a largish group of people watching/posting to it, for it's actual reason. When someone disagree's with a bit of advice, they feel the need to "correct" or argue their point. In the same channel it was started. People like to Troll.
Chat channels IN GENERAL are not used properly. You see /t4 being spammed on battles all the time. That is incorrect usage, for RvR messages you should use /2. That is region RvR channel, /t4 is to talk about all T4orvr in general, not region specific area's. Does anyone care? No, not really. Unless you are spamming.
There are dozens of reasons people will chat/post in whatever channel they want. Color is irrelevant. Besides, I find your comments incredibly offensive to the color-blind.

OP is correct. Unfortunately we cannot force colors from the server side.

No need to prove that colours matter in communication. Or?

t4 it's used improperly due realm captain need a fix, also no one really spam in t4 useless stuff really.
region 1 and regionb2 are redundancy, no one use region 1 for pve cu you need use LFG chat so basically region 1 and region 2 can be merge.
Advice color it's not a finger in the eye it's just that; that added with all other chat dont le you red nohing at all

Re: Small Quality of Life change, easily implemented
I got a 1 day ban once (for frequently improper spelling and i believe one too many chicken jokes) from /ad chat (actually all chat) back during T3 so i just made a NEW tab exclusively for /ad and i haven't looked at it more than a handful of times since then, i used to get quite distracted with helping people on /ad but not since that ban!
Ignoring people is effective but ultimately counterproductive and only inspires false bitterness.
It seems to me that on-the-spot advice during problematic situations in chat is the best way forward, telling problem peeps to change their chat colours or etc does seem kinda reasonable as a start, can such be forced by staff?

Re: Small Quality of Life change, easily implemented
Those arguments/discussions that happen in the /advice and in my experience are the main cause of the channel misuse will keep happening no matter what color it is. And if the purpose of the change is to make it less noticeable... not sure that will work at all, since /3 and /6 (when actually used) get similar responses to comments there, and they have the same default color as /talk.
Plus that's not necessarily a good thing - the more people see/notice the /advice channel text, the less they will have to ask those frequently-asked-questions (or the less frequent ones) themselves. It'll be also more likely they'll be aware of the not-so-obvious features of the game. You do want it to catch people's attention even if they're not specifically looking for advice.
