Running open warbands is fun, as long as you don't set the bar too high or expect perfection.

Just try to keep the composition healthy (roughly 2/2/2, but doesn't have to be perfect), and focus on keeping people together (some simple chat macros can help with this). If you do those things you've already increased everyone's effectiveness multifold.

chookette wrote: Sat Sep 03, 2022 11:24 am as I said above. it is useless to converse. we don't have the same vision of what a game is.

a lot of mixing in your remarks which can feed this or that vision. one does not preclude the other for most of your returns.

and fortunately others do not share your vision. Otherwise, in the extreme this game would only be for two elite guilds.
Then what's the point of this thread? And it's not elitist to want people to use discord and follow a guild leader during wb's. That's a basic pre-requisite for pretty much all guild warbands, even casual ones. And as I said, you're fine with your opinion of not wanting to join a guild (god knows why, even a casual guild provides benefits, I'd argue refusing to join a guild actually hurts the community but whatever). But you lock yourself out of that content because you don't find it fun (again nothing wrong with that), and then you come onto the forum complaining about guilds not opening their wb's to people who don't join guilds because they're not in their guild. The answer is pretty simple, join a guild and you can join their warbands, otherwise guilds will run their warbands as they see fit. End of story. And again, in regards to more pug warbands, be the change. Stop complaining on here because it's not going to do any good and start leading public warbands. You can't just come onto the forum and say I want more public open warbands do it for me, because nobody is going to.

The server is elitist as fcuk with little skill. People have their identities based in the community they are in, not wehat they are accomplishing for the game. Yet the orifinal idea for the mod was made (imo) with the intention of making the game unplayable for what the devs perceived as 'elitist' 6mans killing everyone who wasnt under their skill level. Thats filtered down into the community, sadly.

Its just how people and the server is. People don't learn and have a very inflated sense of their own. This mod may get there, but it could've been much more popular than it is due to compounded issues with how the game isplayed at the attitudes that encourage that. Just like Planetside2. Just like a lot of MMO's.

For what its worth I totally agree with you, but thats not how this game is played on this server. A lot of organised groups have come and had no challange so they leave, I hate to think how many 'pugs' have bled out.

The level of play on the sever is very lowe, however it is perceived as quite organized because people can follow and horse and press a morale. Its kinda sad but thats how it is.

The real heros in this game are the people that lead pug warbands. More people should try to do it.

To have fun in the game you don't need to look for wb.
Many people are looking for people to fill a 2,3 or 6man group.
It's quicker that way to find a group.
Strange but those looking for people for a small scale group have less requirements than those ridiculous warbands where they are looking for 70+ people with good gear and a discord.
The gear and your rr is not important. I recently played a duo with lowbe choppa 40 CR / 35 rr, dev/conq gear (not even beastolrd gear) and he killed more then sov BIS spamming aoe choppas.
I play in such groups myself and it is really enjoyable.
Playing in smaller groups will make you a better player yourself quickly because this style of game requires thinking and not brainless aoe, aoe, drop morale, aoe, aoe.
Additionally u can qq sc also in small pt.

I completely understand that you like to play in closed guild wb but maybe, from time to time, it would be cool to open it a little bit and revive the pleasure of playing with others.

And this, even if they do not meet the expected level of play or equipment.

And I see an additional postive consequence is to make others want to play. more fun.

What do you think?
The title of this Forum Subject is How about we play together. Though, when a few others post join a guild and play with them you say, no. Now I am not a smart man, but it sounds like you are saying how about we play the way I want to?

This game is just by itself horrible, poorly executed, bloated abilities, laggy as heck and ran by a small dev team. What this game has though, that others do not, is a community of people that love just having fun beating the crap out of each other. If you are playing this game other than for the community (in my opinion) you are playing it wrong. There are better games out there; but the community here is second to none.

I ask you, join a guild, get into discord, listen to others opinions and I promise you that you will change your toon.

I will however agree with Garamore, when I hear others teasing about a certain pug wb leader I shut them down and say this game would not be possible if it wasnt for these brave souls.

Public warbands have been bugged for weeks now, which has really put a damper on PUG warbands, overflow warbands etc. Hopefully there is some sort of fix coming for that, it really seems to be hurting RVR.
