how about we play together?

I'm a little frustrated and I guess I'm not the only one. there seems to be only very rarely wb open or open to others in orvr.

I completely understand that you like to play in closed guild wb but maybe, from time to time, it would be cool to open it a little bit and revive the pleasure of playing with others.

And this, even if they do not meet the expected level of play or equipment.

And I see an additional postive consequence is to make others want to play. more fun.

What do you think?

There are (Order side at least) several regular PUG herders.

But, to be blunt, nobody owes you a warband. If you want to be in one, click on form party and then warband and start advertising it. You will get people joining. And you will also quickly learn why being a PUG herder requires a specific set of people skills.

The public WBs are bugged and sometimes you cannot join. PM the leader and ask for a spot or look the /5 and look for recruitment messages

some open warbands arent as fun a you think and is almost like not being in a WBs. 2 or 3 of them will be in the SC queue so vanish a lot, along with everyone all over the map with little to no grouping making healing/tanking impossible.

there might be better open WBs out there i hope there is but i just havent found one yet

Join a guild. Guild warbands are generally closed to guild members and alliance only. Primarily because and depending on the guild. Those members earned their place to be in the guild WB. Everyone else hasn't. The only time guilds generally allow non-alliance and guild members to join is if they're well known players who are good at their class. And that's if the spot can't be filled by the guild or alliance. It's also due to the fact that when you're in a guild WB you're expected to play a certain way and do as you're told. If you've ever tried herding pugs in a WB it's like pulling teeth, but that's ok because they want to play how they want. Just don't expect to be invited to a guild WB.

your answer alone captures everything I'm running away from. let's not try to argue we don't have the same definition of what a game is and should be. however, thank you for answering.

It's also just good advice for the quality of play to get into a semi organized wb, either as a guild or /5. Pug warbands aside from a few good leads on either side you are just going to get stomped or spend precious time herding people, neither of which is fun.

I have the same reservations though, I lead people for a living so it's the last thing I want to do in a game, particularly people of questionable maturity or attention spans. But I get what I get if I choose that.

I did post elsewhere I thought incentives like special mounts or cosmetics for people who have X hours logged as leader of a 24 man wb would get more leaders to emerge. The lack of leaders thereof has led to the recent decline of pop and play quality.

Can't find a group? Make one. There are zero requirements to start your own party/WB. Be the change you want to see in the world, and all that jazz.

I think you'll quickly find out why many organized groups don't /5 or make their wb open. Or, you'll become one of the known pug leaders, and generate a following.

The problem is, you're expecting guilds that want to play at a higher, more organised level. To open up their warbands for pugs to join, which by their very nature are unorganised and play at a more casual level. That's the very antithesis of what it means to be in a guild. The whole point of a guild and guild warband, is to join a community where you can pool your resources and skill to form an organised warband that is more effective when compared to that of running as a 24 man pug warband. Now it's frustrating for you because you don't want to join a guild warband perhaps because it's not what you enjoy. Conversely guild warbands opening up to pugs is not something they want to do because playing at a higher level, with better gear, resources, communication etc is what's more fun for guilds to do.

In short what you're asking, is for guilds not to have their idea of fun because you want to have your idea of fun. And it's not gonna happen. More to the point, I run it a hardcore guild and my guild leader on occasion does actually run pug warbands during the day before our prime time guild events. But they're not unorganised. You need a decently levelled and geared class that the warband needs and you need to join discord and do as the warband leader says. Otherwise you'll get kicked because you're not playing for the warband, you're playing for yourself. And again when you join a warband, you need to get out of this idea that it's about the warband making the game fun for you, you should be working with the warband to make the game fun for everyone IN the warband, including yourself.

I agree. Stop shifting the problem onto others to solve it for you. Step up and start leading pugs, or don't and then don't complain when there's nobody leading pug warbands.

as I said above. it is useless to converse. we don't have the same vision of what a game is.

a lot of mixing in your remarks which can feed this or that vision. one does not preclude the other for most of your returns.

and fortunately others do not share your vision. Otherwise, in the extreme this game would only be for two elite guilds.
