[RvR] [T2] Squig Herder VS AFK Knight of the blazing Sun

So I was in T2 with my Squig Herder completing some quest getting some renown points.

I come across an AFK Knight of the Blazing Sun.. Yea cheezy, but he is AFK in a RvR zone.

I figure it would be a quick kill.
The gods taught me it would be not.

I could NOT kill him.. I could barely hurt him.. I would see Parry or Absorb pop up..
The most damage I did was knocking him off the side of the cliff, which he eventually healed up..

My toons name is Uurt if you want to look me up in armory.. I have decent armor and decent gear.. I should have been able to at least hurt him..

Zero clue WTF happen here.. Just didn't make any honest sense..

It can happen if you punt someone (or get punted) to terrain in which the character can stand for at least a milisecond. Sliding off is equivalent to jumping off, so it triggers fall damage.

He had a shield? Was there a way to get around him?

Some of your gear is a bit low but this could change if your rr would be higher, since you didn't do much pvp you need to get more renown to use appropriate items. Furthermore all talisman slots are empty, you lose a lot stats and the rvr bolster has not much available to boost. Usually buffed up lvl29-30 squig with all gear and talismans is a beast.
It's not your class, see it positive, you have great opportunities to improve :D
Dying is no option.

I didnt play SH for a quite long time, but as I remember there is no point going melee before rank 33 - 35, its then when you get key tactics to get melee spec really work.

Thats minimum rank spec for melee squig:

If its that Ktbs u mention:

Remember that attacking enemy close to their Warcamp trigger buff on them, lowering your dmg and boosting theirs - better idea is to move on.

Then its important lesson for you - 2h tanks most likely in bis gear while being solo in RvR will wear regen gear - hes regenerating at least 260+HP every 4s.
And there is hes aura on top of that proc off of every defended attack - means parry.
Next time even if a 2h tank seems afk remember hes defense is a time and parry - dont go melee on him and practice a skills queueing to get most out of your class.

Yes, gear is important for bolster. Here is a simple guide for low tier gear progression:

As a side note: SH is quite complex class for a new player, there is so many things to control, if you struggle with that character, consider learn basics on a more simple class, there is plenty of options - chosen, zealot, etc

Taking a wild guess, likely it was a 900+ toughness kotb with high armor + regen as well, vs you low sh which since low equip/ no talis have even with boost far less that 900 ballistic, and almost no ws. In which case yep, you didn't do enough dmg past armor and toughness to beat the regen.

I appreciate all the responses for sure.

I am trying to understand and build up my SH as well. Another post was is me asking about getting better gear, which I found in the main city from the response.

I am totally okay with just about everything said, probably a mix of low gear and him being better geared.

I should have taken his name to be honest.
