Thank you my good sir. That is very good to hear. May I ask, what role/niche do you see SM filling in War? Do you have an idea of where you want to take the class?
I don't intend to take it anywhere - I intend to prevent the state transition, as a result of power creep, that will bring SM and BO down.

Great to hear! :D

Any chance of some stricter moderation in the balance threads? I'm looking at how that phantoms blade topic went...

It seems those threads just descend into the same 2 or 3 users arguing their own agendas every time? Surely it should be a community + Dev decision over the proposed changes. Not the same users raging until the proposer of the change gives up.

The problem was that the contrarians were right in both of those balance topics - mine and Eiger's.

The issue with SM is that its DPS cannot be isolated enough from its utility to make increasing its utility safe. In Eiger's case, any useful effect on Phantom's Blade is also made available to me as a 2h offensive SM, so I have been buffed. In my case, having a super punt on SM, even one requiring a shield, locks out only Ether Dance, WODS, Phoenix's Wing and Great Weapon Mastery while leaving everything else intact, and contributes to masking Ironbreakers even more.

I don't see why its a problem, there are plenty of examples of some of the best defensive utility tactics and skills being available to tanks while in a dps or defensive build.

Just a thought, would it totally kill balance to allow SM's to have 3 blade enchants at a time like the Kotbs/Chosen can have 3 auras?

It would make the SM the ultimate debuffer.

As a seasoned SM, i think we don't need any change of our cc, we have snare on demand, kd, silence and aoe 60% snare on m2 and a bad aoe punt. We dont need superpunt. My2cent.

Agreed. I would rather be pigeonholed into a loldps offtank than puntbot. :)

Wouldn't it be fun to be able to spec the way you want?

You want dps, you have to sacrifice cc, tankyness and overall surivability. You gimp your toughness to mdps border.
But you reach their burst, spike, big hits damage potential. Anyway you want to call it.
Ofc you'll always lack the mechanic amplifier that slayers/choppas, bw/sorc or wh/we enjoy but you are on par with damage to marauders/wl which sort of are a bridge between dedicated dps'ers and tanks/cc'ers. Which in certain situations can be quite tanky (aoe debuff + being guarded + morales can make a marauder one tough bugger to take down.... and those lovely tentacles coming out of your back moving away all those arrows, swords and axes from hitting your behind).

And would probably require a lot of work and thinking to be properly implemented (like changing some skills from cone to aoe around you debuff hint hint).

That's just my point of view on the matter tho.
And wishful thinking that I might be able someday to log in and be a chosen berzerker of khorne. Swinging mighty two handed axe to add more skulls to the skull throne. And not be laughed at by every mdps I see around for being a "tryhard".

I think the main danger is : if SM are made capable enough to replace a knight as main SnB tank, then double SM would emerge as a better tank pair than any pair with an IB. Which is a sad paradox, cause it would be nice if SM could replace a knight as main tank and finally end the knight's supremacy.
