The game is becoming borderline unplayable during NA. I wish that wasn't the case but I'm currently in the market for another hobby in the evenings, this is no longer cutting it...

Its painful how after 8pm NA central the population disappears and there is literally nothing do but log out :/ and this is a 100% personal issue but between 7 and 10 pm central.. those are the only hours I can play in peace, when my little girl goes to sleep

Sure but due to the low pop you're going to be fighting the same people over and over. I don't have the gear yet to compete with the premades I see on order during those times. Still isn't worth it. Even if the rxp and crests are efficient in a loss it's not fun losing constantly because you can't find geared people to premade with at those times.

It’s a sad state of affairs, but given that things seem to be fine during EU times vs. NA times, I don’t see how anyone can claim it’s anything other than a straight population problem. Essentially from east Asia until the UK, you have a continuous (and large) population to draw from. Then you have the gap of the Atlantic before reaching the “island” of America, which is only 4 hours long, then another gap over the Pacific. So the NA population is isolated, and there just isn’t enough critical mass. Hell, even at EU prime time the server barely ever breaks 1k players anymore.

The last time the server seemed to be really vibrant was the last double xp/RR event (general, not this one-scenario warfront premade vs. pugs nonsense). Since then, it’s steadily declined back to life-support levels, as people got sick of the grind and pro/con calculus changed.

I wouldnt say things are fine in EU prime time. Its either a 4 wb order blob who play super defensive and will only funnel fight, stacking slayers or theres no one to fight but the minute you get a ram its flips from 40% aao to order to 40% aao to destro making it a stalemate. I feel sorry for the 2 order wbs who actually try to run solo. Game getting super repetitive and boring atm.

It has been like this forever on both sides, you are just experiencing the latest Destro downswing. And the core problem is not that it rewards PvD too much, it is that it rewards defending too little for those that can do it.

There ARE 6-mans on that could form the core of a resistance even in full zerg. But why should they? AAO rewards for kills are fine but not that great. They 6-mans can't actually do anything that affects the overall campaign (what is left of it) because there are no mechanics that reward guerilla warfare. And, in the end, they will get zerged down by main warband b/c everyone in it is bored.

So the 6-mans do SCs instead. PvD continues. And those new to the game are left stranded and either leave or switch to zerg side.

I'm currently grinding up a BG alt, entered T4 in redeye/decimator and then sentinel gear. Discordant pops are bumping and I'm not having too much trouble with getting Ws. Not sure why your experience is so different. Hell I'm even handicapping myself to run a troll high initiative gear just so I can crap on all Witch Hunters right now in Sentinel/bloodlord gear and still am pulling off Ws left and right. Why would I do that? Just for the lols...

Only issue I find really is lack of pug warbands, and can be hard to pick up a game. People in all timezones need to start warbands. And players generally shouldn't diss them. I find premades dont start sieges.

I'd also say that low pop should automatically close zones so everyone is in the one area.

AAO is real, and you can get stupid RR killing one WH or WE in a pug warband. You are generally better in the faction with fewer players at any time.

Population ebbs and flows, the lockdown peaked the pop, and I'd say that EU prime pop can reach around 1k at weekends, but around 800 seems the average.

I have done minimal open RvR for the past two months. It's just not fun. Never mind the lack of rewards. Discordant scenarios, on the other hand, tend to be better.

It's to the point now where if scenarios are going poorly or if they aren't popping I'll log off.
