or you play Kotbs in a good ST party in city .... worst contribution possible :) no dmg/ if it runs smooth - nearly no potection ! the contribution is non existant on a kotbs.
And on the far other end are BO/SM, spam your aoe bubble and run wounds bellow with extra healing tactic and win the highest bag in every phase :D Classes are on very different tiers for rewards in cities.

I think city is at best state ever. We got premade 6mans, 12mans and full WB queuing, solo also if lucky can get decent instance. Rewards arnt bad compared to 0 crests when on losing side 2 years ago.
So it besically goes down to what you want to do.
One of advantages is you face same amount of opponents, which for some seems downside :)

It's boring. That is the most unforgivable aspect of any game. Win or lose, it has rarely been fun. Whenever I see an ongoing or upcoming city siege I grumble about the lack of scenario pops.

Whatever happened to the really old setup for city when it was a massive battle with hundreds of players on each side? Why is that not a thing anymore? Why do fortress battles feel more large-scale than city battles?

Cities have never had hundreds of players on either side, neither on live or ROR. IIRC the original siege system was 48x48 instances, and I cannot remember what the second version of the siege system from live used for population. ROR uses the second system from live capped at 24x24.

If the live city sieges were not instanced then a big chunk of my guild (and server...) from live wouldn't have quit once we finally pushed the campaign to the city and found out it was a big scenario :D

I like the cities and I like to crush enemies and faction boss within.
Just add there some fresh revisions (like double-strong cannon to protect respawn point) and a few unique rewards.

For example: What about some city-unique consumables like one + 900 armor pot in the bag?

Worth noting that on my toons I no longer use armor pots when roaming- will rather use resist pots instead.

I only ever played live during thr 48x48 instance hopping Era hoping to get into one where you could farm the PQ with no resistance for maximum crests. Now while

I definitely prefer this version over that live city siege, the current system on RoR has issues.

-Lopsided scenarios are amplified when you're stuck fighting the same scenario for an hour.
-No system to replace quitters, making point #1 even worse.
-Aesthetically the entire city scenario just feels empty. if you're going to go from hundreds of players to 24v24, at least give us hordes of some NPCs that respawn into battles to slay. Make it feel like we're at the tip of the start of a battle, not the clean up crew that missed all the fun.

isn't it that same for oRvR? right now there is a fort 86vs26, is that the thrilling fight you search for? 80% - 90% of the Day, it's one Faction that dominates the lakes and believes, taking down a keep lord is a great achievement.
