A shield acts as temporary health without increasing the HP maximum.
A HP buff acts as temporarily health and increases the maximum HP as well.

Shields are applied after Toughness, so they don't benefit from Guard and armor/resistances like real health does, and they are ignored by morale attacks - another nice disadvantage.

Keep the faction partisanship out of here, especially when you are completely wrong.

Shields are the worst defense measurements, as they are applied and removed first. So besides thoughness, there is no damage reduction on shields...

I do believe that the only benefit of the shields is that you cannot lifetap if the target is shielded, but this small point is clearly outweighted by all their disadvantages.

I think Bellows/Blade enchants are decent as they are the think BO/SMs need desperate are imo: make their kd at 9points def tree. And more important Make more Ardcore tactic give right in da jibbles an IB punt (its a freaking 11points tactic!) mirror this with SM and you have 2 viable tanks now with a good punt if speced for it and kd.

I'd just like to say I know where Joan is comming from as I was constant rejected in favor of chosen + Bg on live and if I was allowed to join they forced me to run no choppin me

This was what made me dislike playing blorc and just quit the class

And this sentiment is very much alive on RoR, when people started fighting in orvr during the lovers cloak event I was rejected multiple occasions on my bloc

I feel that at the very least you could move the kd for the 2 classes down to 9 pts and that would be a huge boon but I also feel adding the feature from 1.49 that made tuffer n nails into a grp armor buff would also be great
