BUFF the BG already

bg already got nice buffs from ror and itself has nice stuff what athers just dream. giving more its make ather tanks played less. (like black orc) its just will of witch king is cancer for any build if u are in party (same as ww) . than ib also need buff in vengeance tree.
p.s bg is tank he shoudnt deal bigger dps than dps , and game shoudnt be balanced 1vs1
i coudnt kill relife plz buff me or nerf him.
p.s.s channel attack with changes of abilities dont work like they where before. (u need see target infront of u not behind same gous for fury of da green and eov , u cant use tham 360 anymore)

BG channel is indeed pathetic, it was ruined( dps-wise) in that patch which changed all tank channels.

However context is important, at that point in time BG was considered the superior 2H small scale tank, everyone in these forums used it as reference for the role model of a tank , '' best punt '' etc. So it was in those times that the devs made their nerf, however it has become obsolete many patches and changes later ( if it ever could be justified).

This '' nerf'' is just another one of those changes made to the game which just doesn't make much sense, yet remains in the game for uknown reason.

I agree, BG needs a buff to his damage output.

Also, make Elite Training baseline and give us Bolstering Anger at slot 9 in Anguish tree.
Also making Shield of Rage a grp wide effect would be cool, to bring it in line with BO/CH.

I'd say the issue for me as a 2h BG main is not just the damage.
Hatred is slow to build if not in full critspec and for what?
The scaling on abilities are not great compared to what other classes do without any buildup (Parry, debuffs, knockback etc.)

Having a channel which only purpose is to build hate feels like it should lead to either good stuff at max hate or at the very least better things to spend it on after maxing out.

BG is now the weakest tank by far and maybe IB so yes I think they need a buff maybe return the healing skill to them and buff the damage on some skill.

Yes, BG is worst tank now. In both 2H and SnB.
Chosen and kotbs are overbuffed rn, they don't have any game mechanic, they buff and debuff at same time and not spending any resources and it's also AOE\group while BG give not that great buffs to single ally. Atleast IB's buff look good with 10% crit, 20+% parry, AA damage + speed.

BG question was drilling my head long time and balance proposals for devs was in to do list for long time.

Gersy, any class in this game have dps spec for damage, now u denying access to dmg for tanks becouse it dont fits in your game view, as smallscale? So all those tanks in ranked with 2h was there to provide utility? They came there to provide needed pressure, and this gameplay was and is FUN. Why whould anyone go big stick to hit with it like wet noodle?

All tanks should deal normal amount of suportive dps, stable without big burst spikes, and remain some def to hold guard dmg. How in your logic existing 2h of sm and chosens dmg is justified, but Bg doing it it suddenly heresy? Or you want to kill all 2h tanks at once?

Since it was decided that healers should be able to deal as much damage as a DPS class in DPS spec, I don't see why tanks shouldnt be able to do it as well.
The whole point about tanks still having alot of utilities unlike healers in DPS spec is ridiculous. Most DPS healers can still rez / AoE + Single detaunt / cure / and heal in still a decent way if they care to do so.

Don't get me wrong, I don't endorse the whole DPS healer idea, especially when some Healer classes can perform better than true DPS Classes. But if it's the direction given to the game, there is no reason to force tanks in their traditional role only.

And to go back to the initial topic, BG has been indeed the worst tank around for quite some time now, especially since his only real speciality (the super punt) was stolen from him and given to everyone in a more stable version (instant super punt vs a scaling one).

As for the list of the class issues :

- Most of his defensive kit relies on Hatred, a ressource that is pretty slow to build nowadays, compared to most of the other tank classes who get fix % (parry/block) from tactics and skills, which means BG is effectively way squishier until 5 to 10 seconds into fight.
- While the class role is about buffing its Dark Protector mdps buddy, unlike IB, its buffs are barely decent. No %Crit, no %parry buff, no WS buff which are the bread and butter for a good mdps these days. The only "good" buff he gets over IB is the Elite Training.
- It gets pretty decent debuffs (better than IB), but most of them are still plagued by the Hatred scaling and can be outdone in a single click by some dps class (the armor debuff for instance). Furthermore, while the AP drain speccing worked pretty well on live, classes having way more ways to generate AP makes it mildly interesting at best.
- in Offensive spec, as it was stated above, even going glass canon with full str/crit build deals pretty poor damages due to the physical only nature of attacks and the inability to reach really high STR numbers. ( On that topic, the new LV sets are in my opinion very poorly thought out for offensive tanks. You don't want an offensive set without STR, furthermore no tanks can really afford speccing WS with no STR tactic around).

All in all, although the whole idea of a class relying on Hate is pretty fun and lore accurate, it makes it way weaker than the other tank classes now that they got the same tools with no penalty. Risk vs reward when considering class balance means a class with such mechanics should be slightly better at full charge (especially since using skills will immediately mean a drop in stats).

For me buffing the Channel is pretty much mandatory since you need it to build hatred and you need to crit soo you gonna be squishy tank with doing the less dmg. Most people that dont know about it dont even play the freaking class. I RARELY see any BG to be honest there a reason there a million chosen and BO on destro. Even buffing the channel other BO/chosen would still do way better dmg lol No dev probably play the bg that's why they never got the love they deserve probably. I do more dmg on my Shield knight channel than bg channel with a 2h.

I also want to remind that IB has access to Healdebuff fortress weapon and subjugator with speed proc, while BG don't have HD proc at all, only speed.
