Good to know that there will be a message when a zone is taken against no defense. This appears to be a separate issue where the attacking realm doesn't get bags, even though I've heard that the defenders do. Will try to capture evidence for it this weekend.

There already are 2 messages, first at keep:
The forces of X are attacking abandoned keep, there are no spoils of war inside!

And at zone lock:
The forces of X conquered abandoned keep, no spoils of war were found!

This was the only change, so far I'm not convinced that there are no loot bags for winners if they should be awarded, but I will try to add some additional logging for next patch.

Nice! I haven't seen those, but I'm normally not in the off-zones. There have definitely been instances where a roll didn't occur from two active forces fighting, and we didn't receive that chat message. But again, will try to replicate so you can find the issue. Which channel is that chat message broadcasted in?

If you mean AoR T1 system by retail system it actually didn't work at all. It was horrible, especially for brand new players and in low pop hours of the day. I'm not talking at lauch but once we got over the usual launch frenzy.

Only action in Nordland. (if you wanted to call that action of course)
Twinks from the free trial, gaming T1 Empire only.
Abuse of the apprentice system.
Bad debolster system put in place.
Warcamp AFK banner leeching messing up AAO and punishing the ones wanting to fight it out.
Empty zone circle jerking flips Elf and Greenkins
Twinks + **** grieving and insulting people because they only thing they cared about was their little gameplay, not flipping a zone or helping brand new players to get into T1 RvR.

Today's T1 in RoR is way better than it ever was in AoR. It's certainly not perfect but there's no comparaison with what we had on the AoR servers.

I disagree. Just went to T1 Nordland, there was 1 magus on destro side and 10+ order sitting on all flags. Magus didn't want to die (who can blame him), so he was watching order from a distance. Zone was about to flip, i was bored. Went to do pve to lvl up, got bored, logged out, didn't even wait for lock.
Was same when i leveled up my other toon through T1, had to do pve to get myself out of there.
It's boring. I understand ppl don't like camp farming, but at least we pressed some skills, some died, some lvled. There was action. Twinking can be dealt with.
Just ask yourself, have you ever saw that someone made video about caping or sitting on a BO? Or killing keep lord, or any other PvE in RvR? No. it's about fighting, and old system at least gave us skill clicking. And if you had AAO, you could easily get lot of kills and leave T1 fast, becouse ppl were dieing on mass.

Pop imbalance and it doesn't matter what system you put in place. If there's nobody then there's nobody and that's it.

Orodret et al. probably have the issue, playing in a low pop time scale when there's just not much going on in T1. I don't think this can be avoided for T1 as it's bound to happen sometimes. You can't make an oRvR T1 system that will be fine for 3 vs 2 and 30 vs Magus + Orodret and 35 vs 55.

What we need to do is test the actual T1 system and give feedback, so the staff can check and tune where they see fit.

Agreed.

As for retail, to be fair, my view is skewed as the guild I belonged to would server hop as needed to find the action. We routinely had to make it happen on some servers. We stuck it out until Mythic removed guild keep claiming the gave up; played all tiers regularly.

RoR NA prime time T1 is only occasionally even enough for a fight, or populated enough to lock zones. That discounts the total lack of resistance that occurs most nights.

Why not buff the aao side? To balance numbers give the less ppl side %of resost and damage no? For example if a faction got 20%aao for example, get 10%dmg and resist bonus to compensate low numbers.
